Everyone loves to watch Love It Or List It stars Hilary Farr and David Visentin banter and bicker on every episode about whether the family will love their newly renovated home or select a new home for purchase. The hit HGTV show pair has captivated audiences with modern kitchens with granite countertops, open concepts, and subway tiled bathrooms. These inviting homes often leave fans wondering where they can purchase one like it, where the show is filmed, and where Hilary and David live.

Many fans have speculated there is a relationship going on between the two actors, hypothesizing a romantic connection from the fun banter seen on television. However, both Hilary and David have shut those rumors down. They are just friends, so they don’t live together. They live separately with their individual families but remain great friends.

Although the film is filmed in North Caroline, with the HGTV casting call asking for applicants in Raleigh-Durham or within a 45 minute drive of the Triangle in North Carolina, the show’s hosts doesn’t live in the state. They don’t even live in the United States of America. The two are citizens of Canada, with Hilary being a native citizen of Toronto, Ontario, and David resides in Barrie, Ontario, according to ALLVIPP. David is a top agent in Southern Ontario’s real estate market and has been practicing since 1987. He currently lives with his wife, Krista Visentin and son, Logan Visentin.

Although David has strictly lived in Canada, Hilary has ventured outside the northern country to live in others around the world. A home designer, Hilary has moved around, living in Australia, California, England, and New York over the years. After attending Ryerson University, Farr moved to Los Angeles where she began her career as a home designer. She also picked up a few gigs acting. However, she always called Canada home. The HGTV star has one son, Josh, with ex-husband Gordon Farr, and at least three grandkids.

Another surprising tidbit about the show and its locations: many of the homes David shows the couples aren’t actually listed on the market. Producers just drive around North Carolina in search of a beautiful home to put on television for the show. Or, producers put their friend’s homes in front of the camera. And when homeowners announce they’re going to list their home, this may not be their final decision. After filming, some choose to stay in their renovated home.
