Lucifer is a greatly appreciated fantasy drama series with a dedicated fan following, to say the least. Starring Tom Ellis (as Lucifer Morningstar) and Lauren German (as Chloe Decker) in central roles, the series is adapted from DC Comics.

The critically acclaimed show became a worldwide hit thanks to a near-perfect season 1, and the writers had to live up to the expectations in season two. With Lucifer now settled in Los Angeles, the devil’s character growth continued in season 2, with Detective Chloe by his side. Without further ado, let’s rank the best 10 episodes from the second outing of the show, according to IMDb.

10 “Stewardess Interruptus” (8.8)

In the eleventh episode of season 2, Charlotte continues to do some villainous things by manipulating Lucifer and Chloe’s increasing intimacy. Also, with Chloe and Lucifer anticipating the developing romantic tension between them, it’s becoming difficult for both of them to investigate a double murder with direct ties to Lucifer.

The girls who are found dead happen to be Lucifer’s ex-girlfriends, which means someone might be trying to frame him.

9 “Weaponizer” (8.9)

In the fifth episode of season 2, Lucifer has a couple of things to deal with. Firstly, his brother, Uriel, shows up and he has some concerns regarding Chloe and her mother, which naturally concerns the devil on Earth.

Amenadiel is forced to talk about his lost powers, while the NYPD investigates the murder of an action movie star, Wesley Cabot. A couple of nice twists make this episode really enjoyable.

Chloe is tracking down her father’s killer, but when the suspected person is murdered in the prison, Chloe uncovers some new evidence that leads her in a completely different direction. Meanwhile, Lucifer is trying to be “normal” by following Dan’s lead.

7 “Homewrecker” (8.9)

In the ninth episode of season 2, as the title suggests, Lucifer’s home, the fancy club Lux, is under attack as the owner of the building is murdered. Furthermore, the new owner wants Lucifer to evict the premises because he is thinking of bringing the building down.

So, the devil must figure out a way to save his home while figuring out the murderer. Also, Charlotte, Maze, and Amenadiel are trying to convince Lucifer to come to heaven.

6 “God Johnson” (9.0)

In the sixteenth episode of season 2, a murder has taken place in an asylum and the prime suspect of the case claims to be God, Lucifer’s father.

Consequently, the devil has to deal with his emotions towards his father, whether or not the person claiming to be God is him or not. It’s a nice episode, teasing a reunion between the protagonist and someone who made all of human life and the devil from hell.

5 “Love Handles” (9.1)

In the twelfth episode of season 2, Chloe and Lucifer have a lot to talk about after their romantic moment. It’s an emotional and awkward conversation but the viewers can clearly see the chemistry between the duo.

On the case front, a vigilante, or more precisely a masked killer, is wreaking havoc by targeting college kids. With their newfound relationship, Lucifer and Chloe must find the culprit.

4 “Monster” (9.2)

In the sixth episode of season 2, Lucifer has to do deal with something different than anything that came before. After killing his brother Uriel, Lucifer is grieving hard, which leads to his fondness of booze coming in-between Chloe and a murder case.

Therefore, Chloe decides to seek out the support of Dan instead. Elsewhere, Amenadiel learns more about Charlotte and grows closer to her. Also, Maze is seemingly bonding with Trixie.

3 “Quid Pro Ho” (9.2)

The tenth episode of season 2 starts off with a pretty intense scene. Charlotte wants Lucifer to come with her heaven, so she has decided that she has to kill Chloe in order to do that. But, at the right time, Amenadiel shows up to calm her down.

Of course, this is all happening behind Lucifer’s back; therefore, whenever he comes to know about all this, he wouldn’t be particularly happy with his mother.

2 “The Good, The Bad, And The Crispy” (9.2)

In the final episode of season 2, Charlotte, Lucifer’s mom, has gone missing after killing a person in self-defense. This means Lucifer must keep Chloe from finding out the truth while, at the same time, he must find where Charlotte and Amenadiel have gone into hiding.

It’s an episode that passes by really fast, with the ending giving the fans some closure. Charlotte turned out to be an incredible character.

1 “A Good Day To Die” (9.5)

The thirteenth episode of season 2 is absolutely fantastic. The drama is over the top and highly emotional, with every scene telling the viewers everything they need to know about Lucifer, who’s more of an angel than a merciless demon.

For Chloe, Lucifer is ready to give his life and he heads back to hell in a desperate bid to save someone he deeply cares about. While he is there, he also has to face the fact that he killed his brother, Uriel.
