Now a Netflix Original, Lucifer, starring Tom Ellis and Lauren German, is one of the most popular fantasy drama series in the world right now. The protagonist, Lucifer Morningstar is the devil from hell who’s shenanigans in Los Angeles are impossible to miss.

The fourth and the latest season of the show came out in 2019, following the events of the season 3 finale which saw Chloe Decker finally get to know the real identity of Lucifer. 10 “Everything’s Okay” (9.2)

The first episode of season 4 is classic Lucifer. Invoking emotions, with an emphasis on humor, and revealing a subtle twist. It’s been a month since Chloe saw Lucifer’s devil face and she is on a vacation, which means Lucifer has slipped into a state of immense confusion.

But, out of nowhere, when Lucifer is ready to give up the job, Chloe shows up as both of them try to refrain from mentioning what happened in the near past.

9 “Somebody’s Been Reading Dante’s Inferno” (9.2)

In the second episode of season 4, Chloe, with the help of Father Kinley, is planning to send Lucifer back to hell but when a curious murder on a reality show shows up on the radar, Chloe must focus on finding the killer.

Elsewhere, Lucifer is thinking about asking Chloe out on a date, while Amenadiel is out to search the beauty in humanity. Moreover, Maze must find a way to talk to Trixie but  Chloe is not allowing any of it.

8 “All About Eve” (9.2)

The fourth episode of season 4 introduces the viewers with Eve, Lucifer’s ex-girlfriend, and Adam’s wife. But her mischievous nature means Lucifer will have to strike a deal with a dangerous gang leader, who owes Lucifer a debt.

What the devil from hell doesn’t know is that Chloe is chasing a murder linked with the same case and they must work together, without knowing, to catch the real culprit. Also, with Eve back in the fray, Chloe feels a little jealousy creeping in.

7 “Orgy Pants To Work” (9.2)

In the sixth episode of season 4, Lucifer is dealing with two lives, quite literally. He’s juggling between work and pleasure, much to the frustration of Chloe who thinks Lucifer isn’t taking his work seriously.

But our favorite devil thinks otherwise. He thinks he is living the life of his dreams; getting the best out of both worlds. Elsewhere, Amenadiel has to deal with the untimely appearance of a family member.

6 “O, Ye Of Little Faith, Father” (9.3)

In the third episode of season 4, after finding out the truth about Chloe from Father Kinley, Lucifer thinks she betrayed him. And when a case of an ex-gang member being murdered shows up, Lucifer tries to find an answer to the ultimate question – why would anyone betray a friend?

Meanwhile, Amenadiel gets the news that he is going to be a father, while Maze, with Dan, goes absolutely crazy on a murderous gang, which gives Chloe a lead for the case.

5 “Expire Erect” (9.3)

In the fifth episode of season 4, on advice from Linda, Lucifer seeks closure with Chloe and decides to do a last case with the detective. But little did they know that this case would drag them to their limits.

When an automobile enthusiast turns up dead, LAPD struggles to find any meaningful link to the murder. Moreover, Dan and Maze must come up with a solution, or else their friends could end up dead, after getting trapped inside Lux.

4 “SuperBad Boyfriend” (9.3)

In the eighth episode of season 2, Lucifer must break up with Eve if the prophecy proposed by Father Kinley is to be stopped from coming to fruition.

He tries everything he knows to execute his plan, in proper Lucifer fashion but comes up short. In a peculiar case of a teacher’s murder, Lucifer gets some guidance to get rid of his current problem, while Amenadiel finds a teen called Caleb and bonds with him.

3 “Devil Is As Devil Does” (9.4)

In the seventh episode of season 4, Lucifer starts embracing the devil inside him, with Eve cheering him on but Chloe doesn’t like it one bit, obviously. Dan’s suspicions about Lucifer convert into an obsession as he gives a very dangerous man green light to hurt the devil from hell.

Meanwhile, Amenadiel is quite happy, to say the least, after driving Remiel away, while Linda must find a solution to Lucifer’s horrifying problem.

2 “Save Lucifer” (9.6)

The penultimate episode of season 4 reveals the problems Lucifer is facing. Even though he looks so cheery and happy on the outside, he’s facing some real problems on the inside.

And the only one who can help him find a way out of this situation is Chloe, but even she doesn’t seem to have the answers to the questions Lucifer is proposing. At the same time, a case of a missing and murderous twin sends LAPD to work.

1 “Who’s Da New King Of Hell” (9.7)

The season 4 finale deals with the consequences of Eve’s actions as demons from hell are summoned onto the Earth, looking for Lucifer. But when their king refuses to come back, the demons find Amenadiel’s son and decide to make him the new king of hell.

In an episode full of emotions and chaos, it remains to be seen whether Chloe and Lucifer will end up together or will fate drive them apart, again.
