Netflix has just released a video revealing everything they’re allowed to say about the upcoming Lucifer season 6, dropping some major hints for what’s to come. The show, about the Devil himself moving to LA to own a nightclub and solve crimes, stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, D.B. Woodside, Rachael Harris, and Lesley-Ann Brandt. Season 6 of Lucifer will be the show’s final season.

The hotly anticipated season will drop on Netflix this Friday. Season 6 will follow Lucifer as he attempts to manage his impending promotion to God. The 10-episode season has been described as a “post-happily-ever-after story,” and while not much has been previously announced about the plot, Netflix has also announced that one of the episodes will be an animated special featuring Lucifer and Chloe Decker.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

On their YouTube channel, Netflix released a video coyly sharing everything they can about the upcoming season. The video teases some major character developments, details on locations (including a whole episode set at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, as well as a major moment at the Walt Disney Concert Hall), and much more. New footage is mixed with clips from previous seasons to give fans just the slightest taste of what they’re in for, including Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool‘s Negasonic Teenage Warhead) as rebellious angel Rory, a potential new Devil. Watch the video below:

There’s a lot to break down in this teaser. It looks like the plot will be taking place after a time jump, though it’s unspecified exactly how far into the future Lucifer is going. Lucifer and Chloe will also be settling into their new life, though he is still going to a therapist to get a handle on his new responsibilities. Mazikeen and Eve don’t seem to be settling in at all, Amenadiel is training with the police, and Ella is trying to solve the vital mystery of… her missing sock.

This video really does go for the brass ring by inching as close to spoilers as possible. They were certainly coy when it comes to what exactly will be happening at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and what character will be developing new powers, but their willingness to spoil that Dan Espinoza is going to get shot after making a deal with Rory probably indicates that he won’t actually die in that episode. Still, it’s quite the exciting reveal. Whatever happens, Lucifer season 6 is going to be explosive as it heads toward the show’s ultimate finale.

Luciferseason 6 will premiere on Netflix on Friday, September 10.
