A new fan poster for a fictional Mace Windu Disney+ show depicts the famous Jedi Force-choking a stormtrooper. Samuel L. Jackson first appeared in George Lucas’ Star Wars prequel Star Wars: Episode I- The Phantom Menace. Jackson had a substantial role in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of Sith and quickly became one of the most memorable Jedi introduced in the prequels.

Despite being a fan-favorite character, Jackson hasn’t played the character since Revenge of the Sith was released in 2005. Mace Windu supposedly died at the end of the third prequel after his duel with Palpatine. Windu bested the Emperor, but after Anakin intervened and tried to save Palpatine’s life, the Sith Lord used Force lightning to push Windu out of the window in his office. There have been many fan theories of how Mace Windu could have survived, especially since there were so many speeders flying by when he fell.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Mace Windu is currently still officially dead in Star Wars canon, yet a fan poster by tilian_creative shows what the character could look like if he were to return. The poster shows Jackson’s character with his iconic purple lightsaber standing in the rain as a stormtrooper floats overhead. The artwork can be seen in the artist’s original post below:

At this point, there are plenty of ways Mace Windu could be worked into a Star Wars storyline. The Book of Boba Fett featured one of Grogu’s memories showing clone troopers carrying out Order 66. Three unnamed Jedi die protecting him, and a fourth is expected to have successfully helped Grogu escape the Jedi temple. It hasn’t been confirmed that a Jedi specifically aided Grogu, but this would be a logical way to reintroduce Mace Windu to the franchise. This would also open the door for Boba Fett to finally confront the Jedi that killed his father if The Book of Boba Fett season 2 happens.

While there are still some live-action Star Wars movies in development, the universe is massively expanding on Disney+. Several spinoffs are planned for specific characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, and Cassian Andor. With the amount of Star Wars content coming to the streaming service, it isn’t a stretch to imagine Disney at least considering a Mace Windu TV show. The decision would also depend on Jackson’s willingness to return, but the actor seems to still be passionate about the franchise based on past interviews and comments. If Disney opts to bring Mace Windu back, hopefully, the show’s poster will look as good as the one above.
