To celebrate the start of the National Football League’s 2021 season, Madden NFL 22 will be free to play this coming weekend. The American football simulator is the latest in a long line of Madden NFL titles, dating back to 1988. Reviews of Madden NFL 22 have praised this latest installment for expanding upon the series’ various modes, improved artificial intelligence and realistically immersive stadiums.

While Madden NFL 22 has not introduced any new game modes to the football simulation franchise, previous modes have been expanded with new features and mechanics. Current-generation consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, have received impactful new features which change the way each game plays out. The new Next Generation Star Driven AI system pulls statistics from the NFL’s database, allowing in-game players to perform similarly to their real-life counterparts. Dynamic Gameday features also improve immersive, such as the Green Bay Packers celebrating with their iconic Lambeau Leap. Upgrades to Madden NFL 22‘s Franchise mode are perhaps the game’s biggest improvements, including a new user interface and unique skill tress for the league’s coaches.

To celebrate the start of the 2021 NFL season on September 9, Electronic Arts is making Madden NFL 22 free to play this coming weekend. The trial will last from September 9 to September 12, allowing football fans to experience their favorite sport even when the professionals are off the field. The free trial will be available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as Steam and Google Stadia. A persistent internet connection is required to play the free trial.

Alongside huge improvements to Franchise mode and artificial intelligence systems, Madden NFL 22 has plenty of original content for players to try during this weekend’s free trial. A new Home Field Advantage mechanic has been added to the football franchise’s newest entry, and it makes professional games even more immersive than ever before. The Home Field Advantage mechanic changes Madden 22 by giving the home team an extra advantage ability, which in turn provides them with an opportunity to overpower the visiting team after a series of successful maneuvers.

The latest entry in EA’s Madden NFL series makes some major innovations using current-generation console hardware. With improved artificial intelligence and a very in-depth Franchise mode, players can fully immerse themselves in the world of professional football. A free trial weekend will give gamers an opportunity to try out Madden NFL 22 while the NFL itself returns to some real-world competition with the 2021 Kickoff. Time will tell how many new players get into the sport simulation thanks to this event.
