Pedro Pascal’s stunt double on The Mandalorian confirms the fan favorite actor will return to the show in the future. Pascal joined the Star Wars universe last year as Din Djarin, the titular bounty hunter on The Mandalorian. Though Pascal’s face is rarely seen on screen due to Mandalorians’ need to keep their helmet on in front of everyone, his performance has been widely praised by audiences everywhere. The Mandalorian season 2 saw Pascal get more involved than ever, much to the delight of audiences. However, recent months have seen rumors swirl that Pascal was displeased with wearing the helmet this time around, thus causing issues with season 2’s production.

The news that December 2021 will bring The Book of Boba Fett – possibly a spin-off, possibly The Mandalorian season 3 – has seemingly fueled these rumors that Pascal’s involvement in the series will be lessening over time. Lucasfilm has yet to confirm exactly what The Book of Boba Fett is, though some have insisted it is not The Mandalorian season 3. Until the official announcement comes, though, fans continue to worry that Pascal won’t return to the show now that, technically, Din’s current journey has come to an end.

Luckily, a major source has insisted Pascal will be back. Brendan Wayne, Pascal’s stunt double on The Mandalorian, posted on social media to praise Pascal’s performance during The Mandalorian season 2, writing, “The fact that Pedro went beyond the page and made this epic.” He then concluded with the wonderful confirmation that Pascal will return. “Yes!! Pedro is coming back and awesome . There was never any question. DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ,” Wayne declared. You can see his full post down below.

Aside from the conflicting rumors spreading, there’s little evidence to suggest Pascal wouldn’t return. The actor himself debunked the rumors that he dislikes wearing Din’s helmet on The Mandalorian and has been nothing but positive toward the series. Beyond that, baby Grogu might have been taken away at the end of The Mandalorian season 2, but it’s very clear Din’s story isn’t over yet. He still has the Darksaber, despite his own hopes, and fans hope Grogu’s time with him isn’t quite finished either. To lose Pascal now would be a huge disappointment.

Regardless of whether or not The Book of Boba Fett temporarily slips into The Mandalorian‘s season 3 timeslot, Pascal will wear the now iconic helmet once again. Considering the performance Pascal put on in the final two episodes of The Mandalorian season 2, this is a major win. He’s managed to bring Din to life without even showing his face, an incredible feat that now feels like it could only come from Pascal. Though it might be a while before fans actually get to see Pascal slip into the Mando costume again, they can rest assured that it will happen.
