Manifest has its share of heroes and villains, like any other show of its kind. But, the situation is slightly more nuanced here. Some of the villains are actually heroes, depending on the perspective, but they’re viewed as villains in some people’s eyes. Other characters from the show, played by well-known actors and actresses from other popular TV series, aren’t actively trying to be villains or were forced into doing evil deeds despite their better judgement.

Whatever the situation, through the series 3 seasons and great episodes, some of the characters, from Flight 828 passengers to others who work with or against them, are more villainous than others.

10 Robert Vance

Robert Vance is inherently good. He set out to help Ben and the rest of the passengers from Flight 828 as soon as he realized there was something not right about the situation. He continued to do what he could to help, using the fact that he’s one of the most intelligent Manifest characters to his advantage.

That said, Vance had to present himself as a villain even when he wasn’t one. Sometimes, that meant performing villainous actions such as when he let the experimenting continue to happen because it was out of his control. That said, he was not a true villain, but rather a hero hiding as one.

9 Ben Stone

Ben Stone is the self-professed hero of the 828ers, working frantically to try and save them from what he believes will be their inevitable death date. He has the historical knowledge and the drive to do just that. However, at every turn, he faced pushback. From Adrian’s perspective, following the Callings, which Ben sets out to do each and every time is actually a bad thing. If there’s any truth to that, then Ben is the villain.

Not only is Ben one of the most unlikable characters on Manifest, but also a villain in the eyes of many, including 828 passengers who believe he is working with the government, anti-828ers who think he’s the leader of a group of evil forces, and even some people who should be on his side but resent his methods.

8 Pete Baylor

Pete was a member of three villains who hunted down and kidnapped Cal and even killed his uncle. But, Pete was the least villainous of the three, clearly under his older brother’s spell despite not really believing in his methods.

Pete felt compelled to follow his brother since he was the only family he had. While Pete redeemed himself in the end, it wasn’t enough, and even the forces that ensured they returned to the dead did not forgive his past deeds.

7 Kory

Like Pete, Kory redeemed himself near the end by hiding out with Cal and saving him from certain death or at least captivity. But, it wasn’t enough to save him from returning to death, as, prior to that, he had been a villain for much of his life.

He and Pete went along with Jace’s crazy plans, and he had a part in the initial kidnapping of Cal along with the almost death of Zeke. Kory had goodness in him, as he showed in his final episode. Nonetheless, for much of his time on the show, he was a villain.

6 Randall

Randall was a passionate anti-828er with a violent streak who attacked Ben on two different occasions. But, his most villainous act was when he kidnapped his son from school, leaving his mother in a frenzy. Not only that, but Randall was so hellbent on getting rid of 828ers that he put his own son in danger. Thanks to Astrid and Ben, two of the best 828 passengers, the little boy was saved.

5 Dr. Aria Gupta

Dr. Gupta redeemed herself in the end when a personal story finally convinced her that there was more to the events than just what could be explained by science. But, up until that point, she continued to study and second-guess warnings from Saanvi, even though it put people in danger.

While she was a brilliant scientific mind, she used her position and authority to promote and advance her own research rather than to help those around her.

4 Adrian

Adrian might have had good intentions and was following his personal beliefs, but he also put a lot of people in danger and made a bad name for the 828ers when he started a cult, which was arguably one of the worst acts committed by a Manifest character. He was a primary villain in the first seasons, then returned in season 4 where he rallied 828ers who were against Ben and his ideas with the intention of murder.

Adrian simply became lost after the events of the return and set himself on a path of destruction. The irony is that, in trying to save people, he ended up hurting many of them, too.

3 Eagan Tehrani

One of the most compelling new characters, Eagan found a way to deal with his life upon return thanks to his eidetic memory that gave him sort of superpowers. But, he was also jaded and convinced the government was against them.

While he was right in some ways and did show often that he had second thoughts about taking things too far, his anger and villainous acts, including kidnapping Ben, along with the fact that he was an 828 passenger who should have been on the side of everyone else, made him one of the bigger villains from the show.

2 Jace Baylor

A criminal through and through, there were no limits to Jace’s villainous acts. From kidnapping Cal to killing his uncle in cold blood, Jace lived with so much anger and resentment. Yet, his most villainous act was using his younger brother and friend Kory, convincing them to go along with his murderous plans and acts for his personal gain. Jace was just a downright evil person who showed no possibility of redemption.

1 Angelina Meyer

What made Angelina such a terrifying villain was that she came across as being sweet and innocent. She began to emulate Olive, trying to fit in with the family, and she almost killed the baby by setting a fire.

Believing she was sent for a purpose and that baby Eden was her guardian angel, her worst act came at the end of season 4 when she kidnapped Eden and murdered Grace, one of the best characters on Manifest. While Angelina might just be a lost soul who is dealing with what her parents did to her and trying to find her faith, she was the most terrifying villain from the show precisely because she didn’t initially come across as one.
