In the latest game of the Mario Golf franchise, Mario Golf: Super Rush, players can choose to play as one of the many characters in the roster. Along with staple characters, such as Peach, Luigi and Mario himself, the game also includes some more obscure characters, such as Pauline and Chargin’ Chuck. Even with this large selection, however, the best character available is still the Mii character.

Besides the customization that is available to Mii characters, there are many things that make the Mii character in this game stand on its own against the Mario characters.

10 Choose How To Level Up The Stats

In Mario Golf: Super Rush, each character haS their own stats that make parts of the game either easier or harder. For example, some characters like King Bob-omb and Wario have a high power stat, which means they can drive the ball farther than the other characters. But, these characters also have lower speed, control, and spin stats compared to other characters.

However, unlike the other characters, the Mii character is not forced into a certain set of stats. As the player levels up their Mii character over the course of the Golf Adventure mode, the player can freely choose which stats to raise. But, the player should keep two things in mind. Raising stats can lower other stats, which is shown by how raising the power stat lowers the speed, control, and spin stats. Also, once an EXP point is put into a certain stat, it cannot be changed.

9 Completing Missions For EXP

While the other characters in Mario Golf: Super Rush start off with all their predetermined stats, the Mii characters have to build up to their max stats. This is done by completing missions during the Golf Adventure mode. When a mission is completed, the Mii gains some EXP. If enough EXP is gained, then the Mii will level up.

Each time a Mii levels up, then the player receives one point that they can use to improve their power, stamina, speed, control, or spin.

8 Earn EXP From Failures

Because the Mii starts with low stats, the Mii needs to gain EXP in order to be equal to or greater than the Mario characters. This means that the missions during the Golf Adventure mode are essential to getting the Mii character up to speed. While this may seem like a lot of pressure at first glance, the stakes are not that high because failing missions is not necessarily a bad thing.

Even if the player fails a mission, the Mii still gains experience from the mission. Instead of worrying about succeeding and restarting the game if the player fails, the player should embrace the failures as a possible chance to grow.

7 Failing In Order To Succeed

Not only are failures nothing to be scared of in this game, but failures can also sometimes be beneficial to the player’s success. If the player is trying to reach the max level with their Mii character, then the player should fail Master Duff’s lesson during the main story. The lesson, which teaches the player how to do a Duff Shot, is a simple and easy mission to complete since it is just about hitting the ball at the exact right moment.

But, if the player completes the mission, then the player will only get EXP from that one time, and they will be unable to access the mission again. If the player fails the mission, the player still receives experience, which means they can keep trying again and again to farm more EXP points.

6 Grinding The Lob Lesson

Another mission that can be grinded for levels is The Lob Lesson. The lesson, which is unlocked during the Golf Adventure mode in the Wildweather Woods, teaches the player the Lob Shot. Unlike the Duff Shot mission,  the player can repeat it as many times as they like even if they succeed.

Since the mission is short and gives 150 EXP each time, the player can quickly level up using this trick. When the player reaches the end of the Story Mode campaign and is still not at the max level, they can use this to grind the last levels. While it would be nice to have some extra DLC story content in Mario Golf: Super Rush to help with the grinding, this trick works for now.

5 Reach Max Level

The Mii character has a level cap of 100, which means that they cannot go higher than that. But, this high level is still significant because these max stats can make the Mii character better than the various Mario characters.

Unlike the Mario characters who have to stick with their stats, the Mii character can go above and beyond depending on how the player chooses to raise or lower certain stats.  For certain stats, the Mii character can far exceed the other characters. However, since the max level is 100, the only restriction is that the player can only obtain 100 points in total. Once all 100 points are used, the Mii’s stats will no longer be able to be changed.

4 Power Can Go Up To 360 Yards

One stat that can far exceed all the other characters is the power stat. The max power stat a Mii character can achieve is a total of 360 Yards. Even Wario, who has the highest power stat out of all the Mario characters, only has a power stat of 233 Yards, which means the Mii character can achieve 127 Yards more than Wario.

But, this does come with a cost. To reach this max stat, all of the player’s 100 points will have to be used on the power stat as opposed to the other stats. This means that the stamina stat, which is not impacted by the other stats, will remain at the same level as the start while the speed, control, and spin stats will all decrease to one.

3 Playable Character In Battle Golf

Once the player completes the Golf Adventure mode, the player will gain the ability to play as the Mii character in Mario Golf: Super Rush‘s new game mode: Battle Golf. Through this mode, Mii characters can battle against the Mario characters in the futuristic-looking battle arena.

With the Mii character’s possibly high or even max stats, they can become a terrifying foe that should not be overshadowed by the well-known and beloved characters. Hopefully, there will also be some newer characters will be added to the DLC in the future.

2 Their Own Special Shot

In Mario Golf: Super Rush, each of the characters have their own Special Shot, which gives the ball an extra ability. For example, Luigi’s Special Shot is called Ice Flower Freeze, which freezes the ground beneath the ball.

One of the reasons why this is the best Mario Golf game is because the Mii character has their own Special Shot (which is called Power Stinger). This Special Shot blasts away other golf balls. Also, after beating the Sacred Flamebeast in Golf Adventure, the Mii gains the Power of the Flame. While it does not change the effect of the shot, it does give it a cool flame animation.

1 Their Own Special Dash

Along with the Special Shot, all of the characters also have a Special Dash, which knocks other players out of the way as the player tries to reach the next shot. One example of this is Boo’s Special Dash, Carousel Dash, which summons more Boos to help attack other players.

The Mii character’s Special Dash is called Power Dash, which causes the Mii to run at high speeds. At the start, the Mii will be unable to jump and spin like the rest of the cast. But, the ability will immediately be unlocked at level 40.
