Greg Okotie wed Deonna McNeill during Married at First Sight season 9, and we’ve gathered some fascinating facts about what he’s been up to this year. The fan-favorite groom has been enjoying married life. However, he’s also been working hard on his career. Greg became a first-time father in 2021.

The Married at First Sight experts were confident that mild-mannered Greg would be a perfect match for the intelligent and reserved Deonna, who hadn’t been in a relationship for many years (MAFS alum Haley Harris also had little relationship experience). The couple took things slow and Greg’s kindness and confidence brought Deonna out of her shell. On season 9’s Decision Day, Greg and Deonna chose to remain married. They’ve been together ever since. After their marriage, Deonna and her beloved dog Sandy moved into Greg’s home. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Greg and Deonna spent more time together and that strengthened their marriage.

In 2020, Greg and Deonna announced that their family was growing, as Deonna was pregnant. They later announced their baby’s gender. They were expecting a baby boy who was due in early 2021. Greg and Deonna were open with fans about the challenges of navigating pregnancy during the pandemic. On March 3 of this year, Greg shared a post on his @gregokotie Instagram to announce that their son Declan had been born. Since welcoming their first child, Greg and Deonna have been adjusting to parenthood. They love spending time with their son. Greg shared a sweet photo of himself and his son on a road trip to South Carolina. Greg also celebrated his 35th birthday in April.

In addition to embracing life as a new father, Greg has some exciting business prospects in the works. Greg still owns and operates a math learning center. He has a passion for education. As well, he and Deonna own Akpesiri, a lifestyle brand that sells clothing that features faith-based messages. They have even used some of their Married at First Sight co-stars as models in promotional shoots.

Greg and Deonna are one of the most successful couples from the Married at First Sight franchise. Their relationship is a testament to the power of the controversial process. However, some MAFS couples are not so lucky. Season 9 co-stars Matt Gwynne and Amber Bowles divorced following allegations that Matt cheated on Amber. Iris Caldwell and Keith Manley could not overcome their differences and also chose to get a divorce at the end of the process. For couples appearing on Married at First Sight season 12, Decision Day is quickly approaching. Hopefully, Greg and Deonna will serve as a positive example of a successful MAFS marriage.
