Michael Watson was not a fan favorite during his time on Married At First Sight. The glimpse of hope that his marriage to Meka Jones had on their wedding day was quickly squashed after his inappropriate comment that the two should consummate their wedding or their marriage would not last. Meka did not find it funny. Michael has since apologized to Meka on social media and his YouTube channel with his current girlfriend.

For many viewers of the show, Michael was on the worst husbands of all-time list. It seemed as if he could not stop lying. He lied to Meka about his finances, his job, and where he worked. Everything he said seemed to be shy of the truth. This aggravated Meka and naturally, their relationship ended on decision day. Michael later revealed that he behaved in that way because he checked out of the relationship early in the process. Michael has since tried to make amends with Meka.

Now Michael runs a YouTube channel with his partner Shannon, which is a similar route many 90 Day Fiance stars take. They discuss relationship issues, love, and more. This may be the woman for Michael. He appears to be deeply in love with, so much so that he proposed, and they are expecting to have their wedding on September 4, 2021, which he announced in an Instagram post. Due to COVID-19, they emphasized that the ceremony will be small. Michael also said fans and supporters will be able to watch their wedding if they are approved.

His fiancé has a daughter from a previous relationship and, in his Instagram, bio calls himself a “girl dad in training.” There may be more kids in the future, but Michael appears to be extremely happy. The Married At First Sight process may not have worked for him, but it seems he learned a lot about himself. The growth he has shown, from apologizing to Meka, and forging an amazing life for himself, the experiment may have given him a few important lessons.

Now, he has a beautiful fiancé, and family. Meka and Michael didn’t work out, but it doesn’t mean that either is bad people. The reality TV show route to love just wasn’t in the cards for them. Unlike Woody and Amani Randall, Married At First Sightwasn’t his meet-cute. Michael is focused on the great future with him and his new family and seems settled and happy, which at the end of the day is the most important thing.
