It would be understandable to think that with all the excitement and danger superheroes have to face, they would have no time for building romantic relationships with others. After all, at least the MCU heroes have their hands full – whether they’re taking down Hydra, facing alien threats, or trying to stop Thanos himself.

However, all of that doesn’t seem to stop their efforts to make more out of life, make it about more than just fighting enemies. The MCU has seen its fair share of couples since its birth in 2008. And some of the couples shared pretty memorable kisses that make the fans cheer every time they see them.

10 Thor Promises To Return

Thor’s arrival to Earth in the first Thor movie changes Jane’s life. Not only does she realize there are actual Gods, she and Thor also become enamored with one another. So when Thor has to return to Asgard at the end of the film to deal with Loki, he and Jane share a kiss first. It has a nice spin to it – thanks to Thor’s courtly manners, he first kisses Jane’s hands before she engages him in a more passionate kiss.

9 Kissing On Asgard

Speaking of Thor and Jane Foster, they also lock lips in Asgard. This kiss is shorter than the previous one, most likely because Jane is worried about what will happen to her, so the couple stops kissing fairly quickly. Still, it deserves a spot on this list – mostly thanks to the beautiful setting in which the kiss happens, and also thanks to the quiet but natural intimacy between Thor and Jane.

8 The Silent Kiss

Another couple that nails the natural intimacy part is Wanda Maximoff and Vision. They might seem strange to some but they’re both different from the rest of the world in many ways, so it makes sense that would like one another. Before everything goes south in Avengers: Infinity War, Wanda, and Vision are enjoying some time off as a couple, and that’s where they share a quiet kiss, accompanied only by the sound of the rain outside.

7 Gamora Silences Peter

Peter Quill and Gamora are one of the fan-favorite couples of the MCU. It took them a while to find their way to each other considering their different personalities, but once they got together, they were inseparable.

This kiss also had a funny element to it – Gamora briefly stopped Peter from speaking by pressing her palm against his mouth. The two then shared a loving kiss, showing the real strength of the affection between them.

6 The Long-Awaited Kiss

Another couple that the fans wanted to get together – and they finally got what they wished for – was T’Challa and Nakia. These two were once together but broke up before the events of Black Panther (2018). However, once T’Challa returned to Wakanda it quickly became obvious that the old spark was still there – even though Nakia would like to claim the opposite. They shared a surprise kiss at the end of the movie when T’Challa thanked Nakia for saving him and his family.

5 The Evasive Kiss

This kiss is one of the funniest one in the entire MCU. It happens in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) when Steve and Natasha are escaping from the Hydra agents. Natasha notices their enemies approaching while they’re on an escalator so she quickly turns to Steve and after just a few words kisses him to mask their faces. And it works – they manage to remain unobserved. Steve seems rather embarrassed by the experience then, and his reaction is a part of what makes the scene funny.

4 The Quick Kiss

This kiss was one of the most tragic ones – even though the audience might not have realized it at first. Why was it tragic? Well, shortly after it happened, Steve Rogers crashed into the ice and was presumed dead. Peggy then had to live without him.

But the kiss between them, even though it was a spur of the moment and initiated by Peggy, was still perfect. Simply a woman kissing a soldier before he goes to fight their enemies. What made it even more memorable was Colonel Phillips’ reaction when confused Steve turns to him: “I’m not kissing you!”

3 The Awkward First Kiss

Many fans will no doubt still remember how awkward it was when they shared their first kiss with someone – especially if they really liked the other person. That’s why the first kiss between Peter Parker and MJ will bring out the nostalgia in many members of the audience. It’s delightfully awkward – they first share a brief peck, but then they start kissing in the earnest.

2 The Kiss Born From Banter

After all the drama and danger of the first Iron Man movie, it’s nice to see Tony and Pepper find some relatively peaceful time for themselves. Yes, Tony is still wearing his Iron Man armor but the threat has been managed, and now it’s time to deal with the press. But before they do that, Tony and Pepper banter – and then he kisses her, taking her slightly by surprise. This kiss also kickstarts one of the longest romantic relationships in the MCU that led to marriage and little Morgan Stark.

1 The Final Kiss

There’s only one couple that had to walk a longer road than Pepper and Tony – and that’s Steve and Peggy. After all, their romance story took well over 70 years. And even though some of the fans didn’t approve of Steve’s decision to go back in time and live the rest of his life with Peggy, it’s also difficult to deny that these two deserved their happy ending after everything they’d been through. Steve and Peggy got the dance he promised her decades ago and they ended it with a gentle kiss.
