Stephen Lang and Susan Sarandon have joined the cast of Marvel’s Wastelanders. Marvel and SiriusXM announced Wastelanders: Old Man Star-Lord last week, a 10-episode series about Star-Lord and Rocket returning to Earth after a 30-year absence to discover that the planet has become a desolate wasteland ruled by Dr. Doom. The lead roles of Old Man Star-Lord and Rocket will be played by The West Wing‘s Timothy Busfield and Schitt’s Creek‘s Chris Elliott, respectively.

Now, Marvel has announced Stephen Lang and Susan Sarandon have joined the cast of Wastelanders as Old Man Hawkeye and Black Widow. However, their appearances will come in subsequent podcast series entitled Wastelanders: Old Man Hawkeye and Wastelanders: Grey Widow. While the Old Man Star-Lord entry of Wastelanders will be released weekly starting June 1st, no release dates have been announced for Lang and Sarandon’s respective storylines. It’s unclear at this time whether or not the vocal talents of either actor will appear in Wastelanders: Old Man Star-Lord before their own podcasts are released.

Neither actor has appeared in a Marvel project before, but bring some experience from sci-fi and sci-fi adjacent roles. Lang memorably starred as Colonel Quaritch, the antagonist of the first Avatar film, and is set to return for the next two films in the franchise. Meanwhile, the Academy Award-winning Sarandon previously voiced Dr. Wong, the therapist introduced in Rick and Morty‘s infamous “Pickle Rick” episode. Given their reasonable sci-fi experience and distinct voices, Lang and Sarandon should make fine additions to Marvel’s burgeoning Wastelanders podcast franchise.
