Warning! Spoilers for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #32 by Marvel Comics.

Marvel’s Taskmaster is about to debut a new look that shows the Black Widow villain in a different light. In a brand new preview for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #32, Spider-Man’s fellow hero (and love interest) Starling is captured by the copycat-loving villain. Taskmaster takes off his cape and hood in his lair, showing a different look for the longtime Marvel Comics bad guy.

Tony Masters is the main villain who’s sported the Taskmaster moniker since debuting in The Avengers #195. Taskmaster took a serum in the comics that gave him a heightened, superpowered memory that allows him to copy his opponents’ fighting style and reflexes instantly. From Shang-Chi to Spider-Man, Taskmaster’s photographic memory and other copycat skills make him one of the hardest villains to take on. The hero made their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021’s Black Widow, with Red Room agent Antonia Dreykov being behind the mask instead of Masters, played by actress Olga Kurylenko.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In a brand new preview for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #32 by Marvel Comics by Saladin Ahmed, Christopher Allen, Guru-eFX and VC’s Cory Petit, Miles Morales (in his own new costume) is trying to save Starling after getting captured by Taskmaster. Starling awakens in one of Taskmaster’s lairs, where the villain isn’t sporting his hood or cape. Instead, his skull mask stands out more than ever before. It’s quite a menacing look for Taskmaster.

Starling threatens Taskmaster in the preview, but the villain isn’t too concerned. Starling wonders why Taskmaster didn’t just kill her once he captured her. He reveals that he’s been hired by a mysterious client who wants her alive, but that Spider-Man has already thrown a wrench in his mission.

An exhausted and wounded Miles Morales is doing everything he possibly can to help Starling. Still, given his physical state, it won’t be easy for him to take on Taskmaster singlehandedly. Can the hero stop the villain before Starling is delivered to Taskmaster’s mysterious client? It’s not entirely clear. However, seeing Taskmaster sporting a new look without his hood and cape in the preview is certainly a bit jarring. Miles Morales: Spider-Man #32 is in comic book stores next week.
