Marvel has produced several incredible superhero movies full of high-stakes, stunning effects, and serious action. While many of these films have been entertaining, the most recent period of movies, known as Phase 3, contain some of the best titles yet. Today, we’re turning to IMDb to see how these films stack up.

This movie website assigns every Marvel movie a star rating based on the votes of registered users. These scores are then combined to create a weighted average.

Before we begin, we’re shouting it out to Captain Marvel, which missed the top-ten movie cut by just a little, receiving a star score of 7 on IMDb. Brie Larson and the rest of the gang, you’re great.

With that being said, it’s time to adventure back through Marvel’s highest-ranked Phase 3 films.

10 Ant-Man And The Wasp (7.1)

The 2018 sequel to Ant-Man received a 7.1 star score. It saw Scott Lang balancing superhero life with being a father as he embarks on a new secret-filled mission with help from The Wasp.

Ant-Man and the Wasp received high reviews, with many critics praising its bright outlook and funny, fast-paced plot.

Though no Ant-Man 3 has been confirmed at this time, many fans are hopeful that this section of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will get a little bigger.

9 Black Panther (7.3)

2018’s Black Panther is next in line, scoring 7.3 stars on IMDb. This film was the first to be set in the technologically advanced African kingdom of Wakanda, where Prince T’Challa learns that he has been challenged for the throne. Things get worse as more enemies make plans to overthrow Wakanda, and so the Black Panther teams up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and the Dora Milaje to prevent a world war.

Black Panther was universally praised for absorbing fans into an entirely new story world. The action was full of energy, the emotions were raw, and the cast was full of intensity.

8 Spider-Man: Homecoming (7.4)

The second film in the third Spider-Man reboot saw Peter Parker balancing high school life and superhero life when he learns of a new enemy who looms over the skies of New York City. It received a solid 7.4 star score on IMDb alongside favorable reviews.

Critics found the reboot to be full of color and life without getting too hung up on expanding the franchise it was in. While the film felt fully Marvel, it also felt like its own entity.

Spider-Man: Homecoming received a solid sequel in 2019, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet.

7 Doctor Strange (7.5)

Doctor Strange whisked Benedict Cumberbatch into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016. The film followed a skilled neurosurgeon who, after a car accident, must learn to understand the secret dimensions and mystic worlds that lie beyond New York City. The film scored itself a 7.5 star rating and overall positive reviews from critics.

This film, which introduced a new type of superhero, explored the world of Eastern mysticism in a way past Marvel films had not. The script was smart and the plot was fresh, cementing Doctor Strange as a major player in the MCU.

A sequel film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is set to debut in 2021.

6 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (7.6)

The sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy received a 7.6 star score on IMDb. Rather than saving Xandar from Ronan’s wrath, this film had the guardians helping Star-Lord discover the truth about his father while battling a rising threat to the galaxy.

Most critics loved the film for keeping up its quirky humor, breathtaking visuals, and action-packed story. The jammin’ ’70s-style music also didn’t hurt.

Though details on the sequel are yet to be revealed, we do know that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to start filming in 2020.

5 Spider-Man: Far From Home (7.8)

The final Phase 3 film (also the third Spider-Man film) took in a 7.8 star score on IMDb. In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter Parker joins Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a trip to Europe. However, Peter’s idea of vacationing is quickly left behind after Nick Fury reveals the danger that is threatening the continent.

This Spider-Man film was somehow loved even more than the first, with many believing it expertly set up a new era for Marvel. The design, compelling characters, and fast-moving plot were also praised.

Though a new Spider-Man film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe is unlikely due to the fallout between Sony and Disney, we’re still hopeful that someday everyone’s favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will return to the big screen.

4 Captain America: Civil War (7.8)

Also receiving a star score of 7.8 was the 2016 blockbuster hit, Captain America: Civil War. This film focused on the rift that forms between Captain America and Iron Man after the government decides to get involved in the Avengers. The other heroes split up into teams until they realize there’s a new enemy who is even greater than their arguments.

The amount of love this 2016 film got was unreal. The themes explored were weightier than ever as the stakes continued to grow stronger.

The film also happened to be the conclusion to the exciting Captain America trilogy.

3 Thor: Ragnarok (7.9)

The third film in the Thor series received a 7.9 star score. After Thor becomes a captive on the planet Sakaar, he must race back to Asgard in order to stop the destruction caused by the sister he didn’t know he had, Hela. His time as a prisoner becomes more complicated when he learns that Hulk is being pitted against him on this strange, new planet.

2 Avengers: Infinity War (8.5)

The 2018 installment in the Avengers series saw the heroes teaming together in an attempt to stop Thanos from collecting all six Infinity Stones and turning the universe to dust. Avengers: Infinity War nabbed itself a high 8.5 star score on IMDb.

The star-studded superhero film received high praise with many admiring its complex cast of characters, large-scale visuals, and feeling of looming danger. Though this film was great, its sequel was even better.

1 Avengers: Endgame (8.6)

Topping off the list is the aforementioned Avengers sequel, which scored an incredible 8.6 on IMDb. Stretching 3 hours long, the film had those who weren’t wiped out by Thanos reassembling life in the Earth’s ruins. However, after the Avengers learn they might be able to undo Thanos’ actions, they decide to put everything at risk and go on a time-traveling adventure.

Critics couldn’t say enough good things about Endgame, which acted as a welcome finale for many characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film has already received various award nominations and wins, and is expected to get more.
