Marvel’s Avengers hasn’t seen the widespread success that it had hoped. Since its launch, players have been up and down with the game in terms of popularity. Marvel’s Avengers is turning its attention, once more, towards the content rollouts, it’s promised since launched. Kate Bishop arrived in-game back in December of 2020. Now, fans have a new Avenger to play as—Hawkeye.

Hawkeye, also known as Clint Burton and portrayed by Jeremy Renner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was added to the game on March 18th. Fans are clamoring to level up the latest Avenger, learn his move sets, and master his iconic bow and arrow. Cosmetics are a big part of any game. Just look at how much most modern video games like Fortnite make of in-game purchases. The same can be said for Marvel’s Avengers. There are multiple skins available, but this guide will focus on how to unlock the Ronin outfit for Hawkeye.

Marvel’s Avengers: Hawkeye Ronin Skin (Unlock Requirements)

There are a few schools of thought when it comes to unlocking the Ronin outfit for Hawkeye. Players must ask themselves if they want to spend real-world money on this skin or grind the game to unlock it for free. Let’s dig in.

In Marvel’s Avengers, each hero comes with a unique challenge card. Think of this challenge card as a separate Battle Pass tailored to each hero. Completing their challenges and leveling up their challenge card will unlock cosmetic items, emotes, and credits (in-game currency). The Ronin outfit is the last unlock on Hawkeye’s challenge card. This means leveling him to rank 40, which can take time.

Alternatively, players can purchase all 40 levels of the Hawkeye challenge card for 4,000 credits. They can buy credits with real-world money or unlock them for free by completing challenge cards for other heroes. Each challenge card will reward players with 1,300 credits upon completion (spread throughout the challenge card). Players who’ve been playing Marvel’s Avengers since day one may have some extra credits laying around from passively completing Hero Cards. Of course, those who focused on the challenge cards probably have stockpiled credits in their Avenger bank.

Finally, if the 4,000 credit price tag is too steep and grinding Hawkeye challenges doesn’t sound too appealing, players can buy a variant of the Ronin outfit for 1,400 credits in the store. This variant will change out the yellow highlights and trim for purple ones. However, this Ronin outfit still maintains the same ninja-like aesthetic.

Players with extra credits laying around may be better of buying the skin outright. Hawkeye fans will enjoy playing as their favorite hero to level up his challenge card and unlock the Ronin outfit naturally. Those who have stepped away from Marvel’s Avengers may see the edition of Hawkeye as a decent reason to hop back on the game.

Marvel’s Avengers is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Last-Gen.
