The newest Marvel’s Avengers cosmetic is an Uru Iron Man armor inspired by the Fear Itself comic event. Crystal Dynamics’ multiplayer Marvel adventure features a growing roster of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, with each possessing their own collection of cosmetic items. While recent additions like Marvel’s Avengers’ Spider-Man: Homecoming MCU suit have been praised, many fans have also requested skins inspired by the superheroes’ most memorable comic book designs.

Marvel’s Avengers allows gamers to become some of pop culture’s greatest heroes, but several issues have held the title back from greatness. Despite Crystal Dynamics’ attempts to correct these issues, fans have been frustrated by the game’s microtransactions, technical issues and lack of meaningful endgame content since launch. Upon release fans were also critical of a lack of cosmetics inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though Marvel’s Avengers has since rectified this through a constant stream of new live-action skins. This MCU attire is primarily locked behind microtransactions, though Marvel’s Avengers players can unlock the Iron Man 3 suit using Units earned through gameplay.

Pulled straight from the pages of Marvel Comics, Marvel’s Avengers (via Twitter) has revealed Iron Man’s Nothing to Fear Outfit. The supernatural suit, which first appeared during the Fear Itself event in 2011, was crafted by Tony Stark using unique Asgardian magic and the powerful metal Uru. The design is inspired by the Destroyer armor, seen in Thor comic books and his first live-action film, making it a visually unique and undeniably awesome addition to Iron Man’s Marvel’s Avengers wardrobe. Fans on Twitter have reacted positively to the new skin, leading to requests for additional comic-accurate outfits.

While new cosmetic outfits are always welcomed by the community, Marvel’s Avengers is in dire need of engaging new content. Back in February a Marvel’s Avengers rework and 2022 roadmap were teased, giving fans some hope that the title will not be abandoned by Crystal Dynamics. The upcoming rework will reorganize the game’s mission select system, making it easier for new and veteran players to access content. The developer also promises to release a 2022 roadmap in the near future, which will detail fresh content coming throughout the year such as new heroes, storylines and mission types.

There is still plenty of work to be done on Marvel’s Avengers, but the inclusion of faithful comic-accurate cosmetics is also important. Iron Man’s Uru armor is a distinctly unique appearance for the Armored Avenger, and it has been translated very faithfully into Crystal Dynamics’ cooperative brawler. Harnessing the power of a mythological metal, the Nothing to Fear Outfit will let Iron Man prepare for Asgardian action starting March 3.
