The advent of Hawkeye’s Operation Future Imperfect update on March 18 will also introduce a Campaign Replay feature for Marvel’s Avengers, allowing players to finally replay the story mode. As of now, once fans complete the title’s main campaign missions, there’s no going back to revisit the narrative content. The only option after the beating the game, then, is to take part in endgame content, and the options are few in that regard.

Developer Crystal Dynamics intends to change this perception, though. Sure, the Kate Bishop-centric post-launch offering added something new to the table, but the studio is hoping Hawkeye’s story campaign will truly reinvigorate Marvel’s Avengers. Next-gen upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as native versions for the new consoles, should also inject a bit of life into the experience.

During a recent Twitch stream, Crystal Dynamics developers revealed the Campaign Replay feature for Marvel’s Avengers will go live with the update on March 18. Players can keep all of their previously earned gear and XP, though whether or not this is a full-on New Game Plus mode remains unclear. Fortunately, accessing Campaign Replay looks simple enough. On the Operation Database screen, a “Part 1: Reassemble” page appears that instructs players to hold a specific button to “Reset Campaign Progress.” A warning page pops up next, but notes that character progress and inventory items for all Heroes will not be affected. From there, it’s just a matter of selecting the preferred difficulty and diving back into the campaign’s very first scene.

This is nothing short of good news for players who’ve completed the campaign and are itching to get back to the main story. And, right now, Marvel’s Avengers needs all the positive word-of-mouth it can get, considering the most recent bit of news about the update hasn’t gone over well with fans.

The news in question concerns reworks to Marvel’s Avengers‘ XP and grind system. Notably, once the March 18 update drops, players will find it harder to level up between levels 25 and 50. Crystal Dynamics said it’s purposefully adjusting the leveling curve to better balance the experience, though fans online believe such a change represents an artificial effort to keep players invested for much longer.

Marvel’s Avengers is available to play now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One; the game’s next-gen upgrades hit PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 18.
