Bruce Banner’s time as the Hulk has seen him face off against a number of daunting villains. However, his current fight with Xemnu the Living Titan has proved tougher than he probably ever could have imagined. The Hulk versus Hulk fight isn’t ending any time soon and is about to get even more explosive.

Xemnu was the first Marvel character to be known as the Hulk in the 1960’s comic Journey Into Mystery. While his first appearance predated the iconic Bruce Banner version of the Hulk that most people are familiar with, Xemnu didn’t become a mainstay nor did he stick with the name, instead, showing up sparingly in Marvel Comics over time. However, Xemnu returned in Immortal Hulk and despite his popularity to the public as a famous children’s TV show’s most lovable monster, Xemnu is not as cute and cuddly as it seems.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In a new variant cover for Al Ewing and Joe Bennett’s Immortal Hulk #33 by Steve Skroce and Dave Stewart, Xemnu and the Immortal Hulk continue to cause massive destruction as they exchange blows. The image showcases just how big Xemnu is. So, while he’s trying to manipulate the general public to believe he’s a harmless monster who’s getting badly hurt by the raging Green Goliath, it seems he’s not putting his full effort into taking down the Hulk with force. It’s all a manipulation tactic to paint the Hulk as the villain. However, Xemnu’s manipulation is dangerous. While Roxxon CEO Dario Agger brought the alien to fight the Hulk, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Xemnu turn on everyone on his quest for control. Something is very wrong.

With the general public already against him and Xemnu packing a surprising punch (to go along with his manipulative powers), taking down the giant white Yeti-looking alien isn’t going to be easy for Bruce Banner. The two’s battle is going to be heavyweight versus heavyweight as the Hulk has finally found a worthy opponent. Somehow, this is the calm before the storm as the destruction and chaos caused by the Hulk versus Hulk match is just a precursor for things to come.
