The Masked Singer season 7 contestant Christie Brinkley, who was revealed to be Lemur, shared her biggest fear about performing in the competition. Christie, who is a supermodel and an actress, was the first singer in Group B to be unmasked. The theme of the season is The Good, The Bad, and The Cuddly. Lemur was a member of Team Cuddly, along with Space Bunny, Thingamabob, Baby Mammoth, and Miss Teddy. She competed against Group B members Ringmaster and Armadillo from Team Good, Hydra from Team Bad, and her fellow Team Cuddly member, Miss Teddy.

Christie’s Lemur costume was nine feet tall and consisted of glittery purple leggings and disco boots. Lemur’s purple and white ringed tail was 8-feet 2-inches tall, and was the biggest character tail in the history of the show. Christie sang “I Feel The Earth Move” by Carol King. She stumped Robin who guessed that she was Melanie Griffith, Jenny McCarthy who said that she might be Pamela Anderson, and Nicole Scherzinger who wondered if she was Goldie Hawn. Shockingly, the only panelist who guessed correctly was Ken Jeong, who is infamous for his off-base guesses.

In an interview with ET, Christie revealed her that biggest fear as she performed as Lemur was that she would fall because of her costume. The Lemur costume, with its giant tail, became an obstacle to performing. Christie said that, although the tail looked “really feathery and fluffy,” it was actually “really heavy.” She said that she had to put the tail on first. She had straps across her collarbone, shoulder, waist, and hips, to hold the tail in place because she said, “when I would swing to one side, it felt like it was going to pull me completely over!” Christie then confessed that after her fall during Dancing With The Stars season 28 in 2019, she was “really afraid of falling again.” During that incident, she broke her arm at a dance rehearsal four days before the season premiere, and her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook had to take her place in the competition.

Christie explained how the tail of the costume became a hindrance to her performance, saying that when she swung the tail to the beat of the music, the head of the costume would twist or turn, and then she could not see through the parts of the head that were designed for her to look through. She revealed, “So my eyes were completely covered and I couldn’t see!” Christie described how the costume interfered with her plans for her performance, saying, “I was gonna strut down that runway, I was going to sashay my tail, I was going to do all these things. Instead, I was walking like a 105-year-old woman down the runway.” She admitted that she was “so disappointed” in her routine and felt that “when I was doing my performance, it wasn’t coming together the way I hoped.” Christie shared that she had originally been given a choice of two costumes, either Lemur or another character that she described as “a little more of a glamorous, fierce kind of outfit.” Even though the other character “could be kind of model-y and fashion-y,” Christie said that she “right away gravitated towards” the Lemur because “it was fun and funny, and totally different.”

Although Christie did make it that far in the competition, her appearance as Lemur was fun and exciting. She might have felt some fear about falling while she sang, but she appeared confident, and impressed the panelists and the audience. Thankfully, Christie did not fall during her performance, but fans of The Masked Singer fell for Lemur.
