Kevin Smith serves as the writer/creator of the sequel series, which debuted its first season this past summer. The series was broken down into two parts with five episodes each, leaving viewers with a cliffhanger at the end of part one. The series sports a stellar voice cast that includes Mark Hamill, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Tiffany Smith, Lena Headey, Chris Wood, Diedrich Bader, Liam Cunningham, Justin Long, Henry Rollins, Stephen Root, Griffin Newman, Dennis Haysbert, Alicia Silverstone, Phil LaMarr, Kevin Conroy, and Jason Mewes.

Now, Netflix has debuted the trailer for Masters of the Universe: Revelation – Part 2, which shows the return of He-Man, the tease of a greater fate for Teela, the return of a fallen hero, and an epic battle between Eternia and Skeletor. The end of Part One saw Skeletor becoming the Master of the Universe after deceiving Prince Adam and his allies, but it appears that things will not be going his way, judging by the trailer. Many of the threads started in Part One look to be paid off in Part Two, as the trailer reveals almost too much in terms of where things are headed. However, it’s also a rousing look at what is sure to be an epic finish to the series, which may be what some viewers need in order to tune in. Check out the trailer below:

Netflix is the current home of the Masters of the Universe franchise, with another show, He-Man and The Masters of the Universe, serving as a reboot of the series, but for a younger audience. Masters of the Universe: Revelation is a show intended more for those that grew up with the original show, while the reboot is for new audiences to the franchise. The reboot series features CGI animation and updated characters with new forms of weaponry, tech, gadgets, etc., giving it a stronger appeal to kids, rather than adults.

Masters of the Universe: Revalation – Part One was somewhat divisive with fans and critics, with both praise and criticism being put on Kevin Smith’s shoulders. Smith took some interesting risks with the characters, however, and delved into a deeper mythology of the franchise than has been seen before. While some took issue with these risks, there’s no denying that Smith took things in an unexpected direction, which made an unpredictable and entertaining start to the series. This new trailer for Masters of the Universe: Revelation – Part Two may put some fan fury to rest, but until the whole series is seen it’s hard to know where things will fall. Either way, it’s been a far more ambitious show than anyone could’ve expected and one that has fans talking about MOTU again, which helps to bring it all back to life.
