The MBTI® doesn’t just apply to real people, sometimes characters in movies, shows, and comics are so detailed in their personality, one can easily determine their personality type. Whether we’re watching them onscreen or reading them in books and comics, just about every fictional character can have a personality type. Using the legendary comic character Spider-man and his long list of rogues, let’s find each villains MBTI®.
16 Lizard – INTP
![](https://static2.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Could-The-Lizard-Cropped-Cropped.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Similar to Bruce Banner or Hank McCoy, Dr. Curt Connors has a monstrous alter ego that is unstable and bloodthirsty. As a human, Curt is very quiet and reserved, being very dedicated to his work and regrowing the arm he lost in an accident.
INTPs are well known for being out of the box thinkers, using unorthodox methods to get results and even doing it at their own expense. Much like Connors using lizard DNA and experimenting on himself.
15 Dr. Octopus – INTJ
![](https://static2.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/MARVEL-VILLAINS-Doctor-Octopus.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Before he was a crazed mad scientist with robotic arms, Otto Octavius dedicated his life to making the world a better place. He was an esteemed scientist that was so dedicated to his work, he didn’t have time for anything else.
As a villain, he is arguably the smartest and most creative, often using his brains and inventions to take on Spider-man. His dedication and creativity make him an INTJ.
14 Kraven The Hunter – ESTP
![](https://static0.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/kraven-the-hunter-comics-pic.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Kraven the Hunter has long been one of Spider-man’s greatest foes and one of the few that can stand toe to toe with the webhead. He braces for any challenge and is overly confident he can take down anything he sets his mind to.
From hunting down big animals with his bare hands to believing he could be a better Spider-man than Peter, he has a high motor and willingness to be in the spotlight. His extroverted personality and code of honor make him a true ESTP.
13 Venom – ESFP
![](https://static0.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Venom-Swinging-Future-Comic-Art.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Before he got infected with the venom symbiote, Eddie Brock was an outspoken journalist with a chip on his shoulder and a fearless attitude when it came to getting the truth.
Although he’s not all bad, he has done some terrible things to Spidey and is still a threat to Spidey. His constant sense of adventure and his bold attitude make him an ESFP.
12 Vulture – ENTJ
![](https://static3.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/vulture-flying-toomes-spiderman.v1.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Adrian Toomes is a very confident and capable villain. He was always kicked to the curb and once he gained his confidence and made his wings, he became a very formidable foe for Spider-man.
He looks past his deeds and justifies them with his upbringing and he keeps coming back, no matter how many times Spidey defeats him. Because he’s a valuable member of any villain team and Spider-man rogue, he is an ENTJ.
11 Mysterio – ENFJ
![](https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Mysterio-in-Marvel-Spider-Man-Comic.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Quentin Beck may seem super-powered with all his gadgets and tricks but he’s really just an average man with a love for theatrics.
He wasn’t the most popular guy growing up and his newfound gadgets gave him the confidence and charisma he needed to become a memorable villain. He is a total ENFJ.
10 Sandman – ISFP
![](https://static0.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/Spider-Man-villain-Sandman.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
He wasn’t always a bad guy. Like most of the rogues on the list, Sandman has a rough upbringing with an absent father and an alcoholic mother. He grew up with an affinity for being at the beach and making sandcastles and as he got older, he became angrier and more violent.
Sandman has both good and bad ISFP qualities, from his charm and his creativity to his short fuse and unpredictable nature.
9 Carnage – ENTP
![](https://static3.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/Carnage-Marvel-Comics-evil-comic-book.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Even before he had the symbiote, Cletus Kasady was a dangerous and unstable man. The symbiote just made him more dangerous and ruthless, becoming one of the most dangerous villains for Spidey.
As an ENTP, he prefers to work alone and he also has a very short tolerance and temper. He is unstable and intolerant of anyone who disagrees with him.
8 Green Goblin – ESTJ
![](https://static3.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Green-Goblin.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Norman Osborn was a man who had it all, the brains, the money, and the perfect family. After the tragic loss of his wife, both he and his son took the loss hard. Norman buried himself and work and neglected Harry and was literally driven into insanity.
Given he has been at the top for a long time he is very judgemental of those below him, he’s too focused on his name and his company, he doesn’t have to for anything else, and he’s very unforgiving. All signs of an ESTJ.
7 Electro – INFJ
![](https://static0.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/electro.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Before he was an electricity-based villain, Maxwell Dillon was a lineman with a vast knowledge of electricity and how it all worked. He got so caught up on his job, he became arrogant and even lost his wife in the process.
He has a quest to be the best he can be. He takes all the resentment of being thrown aside as a youth, that he will not stand for it anymore. He is a total INFJ.
6 Scorpion – ISTJ
![](https://static0.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Ultimate-Scorpion-Spider-Man-Peter-Parker-Clone.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Before he was a villain, he was a greedy PI with more interest in money than solving a crime. After he got his powers he developed unnatural hate for Spidey and an even bigger one for J.Jonah Jameson because he was the one responsible for his powers.
He’s very insecure about being outsmarted and he holds grudges for life, much like a true ISTJ.
5 Hobgoblin – ISTP
![](https://static0.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Roderick-Kingsley-aka-Hobgoblin.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Not to be confused with the Green Goblin, Hobgoblin is an improved and newer version of the Goblin. Roderick Kinglsey was a fashion designer that revamped the Green Goblin costume and tweaked the formula used by Norman Osborn to make himself a villain.
Unlike Green Goblin, he is a lot more calculated in his attacks and is usually one step ahead of Spidey. His risky movements and creativity mixed with practicality make him a total ISTP.
4 Rhino – INFP
![](https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Spiderman-Comics-Rhino.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
The Rhino is a man of few words and a man of action. He was just another brute in the Russian mafia before undergoing experiments to make him an unstoppable force.
What makes Rhino an INFP is his stubborn and unrelenting nature, as well as confidence in himself to take on several Marvel heroes, including the Hulk.
3 Jackal – ESFJ
![](https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Jackal.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
Before he was a villain, he was a respected professor who actually taught both Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker in college. He fell in love with Gwen and mourned her loss, blaming Spider-man for her death and tormenting him with clones of Gwen.
He is a smart but erratic man, rarely listening to reason and often defying anyone who sets any regulations on him, like a true ESFJ.
2 Chameleon – ISFJ
![](https://static2.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Chameleon-in-Marvel-Comics.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
As the half brother to Kraven, he grew up ashamed of who he was and perfected his mimicking and copying skills to be someone else. He was shamed for his face by his own parents and tormented into being a shy and insecure villain.
Even after he became notorious, he always tried to impress his half brother and always wanted to make a name for himself. He is a true ISFJ
1 Tombstone – ENFP
![](https://static1.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Tombstone.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&h=370&dpr=1.5%20740w)
He started off as a fragile kid born with albinism but quickly became an unstoppable street fighter and thug that filed his teeth and became a brute.
He traveled the world and perfected his persona that took pride in his look rather than is ashamed by it, as an ENFP.
