The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers stars two well-known adult actors, but the young group of characters at the center of the Disney+ series deserves equal attention. Based on The Mighty Ducks trilogy from the ’90s, Game Changers flips the script by making the junior hockey team the villains in the TV series. Emilio Estevez returns to play Gordon Bombay, but he won’t exactly be the same motivated coach as fans remember.

25 years after the Mighty Ducks film series ended, the junior hockey team that was once the underdogs is now an elite powerhouse. When a 12-year-old gets cut from the team in Game Changers, he decides to start his own team where all skill levels are welcome. With the help of his mom, the hockey-lover and fellow misfits cross tracks with Gordon, who is reluctant to turn around another team.

Aside from Estevez’s return as Coach Bombay, Game Changers will feature the return of a few other notable faces from the beloved sports franchise. The returning Mighty Ducks players include Fulton Reed (Elton Henson), Connie Moreau (Marguerite Moreau), Guy Germaine (Garette Ratliff Henson), Adam Banks (Vinny La Russo), Lester Averman (Matt Doherty), and Kenny Wu (Justin Wong). Brady Noon As Evan Marrow

Brady Noon portrays the central character, Evan Marrow. After being cut from the Mighty Ducks, hockey-obsessed Evan attempts to form a new team with the help of his mother. While doing so, he recruits a ragtag group of underdogs who mirror the original Mighty Ducks coached by Gordon Bombay. Whereas The Mighty Ducks film trilogy had Charlie Conway, Game Changers has Evan, the young figure who won’t give up on his peers or himself. Noon’s more recent credits include Boardwalk Empire and Good Boys.

Lauren Graham As Alex Marrow

Lauren Graham stars in Game Changers as Alex Marrow, the single mother of Evan, the young boy cut from the Mighty Ducks team. To make her 12-year-old son happy, she helps him build a new hockey team that focuses on fun rather than pure skill. Graham’s most notable role was playing Lorelai in Gilmore Girls, but the actress would also be known for her work in Parenthood and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

Emilio Estevez As Gordon Bombay

Emilio Estevez plays Gordon Bombay, reprising his role from the original movie trilogy. No longer involved with the Ducks, Gordon is the owner of an ice rink, which happens to be the only one in town capable of serving as the team’s home arena. In the years since D3: The Mighty Ducks, Gordon has gone on to become bitter, but he comes out of his shell to help Evan’s team just as he did with the original Ducks. Aside from appearing in all three Mighty Ducks installments, Estevez is known for his roles in The Breakfast Club, The Outsiders, and Young Guns.

Maxwell Simkins as Nick: A hockey podcaster who serves as the team’s motivator. Simkins recently worked on Kim Possible, Bizaardvark, and Kim Hushable.

Taegen Burns as Maya: One of Evan’s new team members and the school’s popular girl. Burns was last seen in Disney+’s The Right Stuff.

Swayam Bhatia as Sofi: A caring student whose parents want to be perfect. The young actress has appeared in Master of None and Succession.

Bella Higginbotham as Lauren: The oddball on the team with anger issues. Higginbotham recently appeared in Troop Zero as Anne-Claire.
