Despite never getting much acclaim come award season, Mike & Molly was a crucial part of CBS’s Monday Night Comedies block for several years. Over that time, it ended up developing a very loyal fan-base that adores the lovable couple of Mike Biggs and Molly Flynn.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end and the show decided to call it quits after season 6. But audiences were lucky enough to be blessed with a hilarious and proper send-off for their favorite Chicago couple with the last season being the highest-rated for the entire series, going out with a bang.

10 Super Cop, Episode 4 (7.2)

Mike took his job as a police officer seriously – but never too seriously. That all changed during this episode when Mike falls asleep while on the job and gets his wallet stolen out of his own squad car. Turning over a new leaf, Mike turns into a “super cop” who immediately starts endangering his, and Carl’s, life in order to bring down any crook.

At first, the family likes this new, more-vigilant Mike… but they quickly grow tired of his heroic attitude, especially when he tries to take away Victoria’s weed, prompting Mike to revert to his old self.

9 Joyce’s Will Be Done, Episode 5 (7.2)

Death can be a very fickle thing, and Joyce got to learn that first-hand during this episode when her incredibly fit yoga instructor dies in the middle of a class. Joyce, realizing she hasn’t planned for her own death at all, allows Molly and Victoria to go around the house and pick the things they’d want in case she died… only for Molly to be absolutely irate when Joyce reveals she’s leaving the house to Victoria.

Molly then gets drunk and tells Victoria that she’s only getting the house because she’s the screw-up – only for Victoria to reveal that she has zero debt, several successful investments in stocks, and a ton of money saved up in the bank.

8 The Adoption Option, Episode 11 (7.4)

After getting married way back at the end of season 2, Mike and Molly had been doing everything they could to get pregnant – sadly, they had had no luck. But, after the couple had a successful interview, they ran into the trouble of the mandatory house visit due to their family drama.

As a result, Molly does her best to turn everybody in the house into proper-mannered robots, and it ends about as well as can be expected. Luckily, the adoption agency sees past the family’s pitfalls and puts Mike and Molly on the adoption waiting list.

7 One Small Step for Mike, Episode 2 (7.5)

One of the highlights of the entire series was how sensitively it handled the subject of Mike and Molly’s weight issues while still remaining hilarious, and things were no different during this episode. When Molly gets a FitBit for herself and Mike, she becomes obsessed with the device and it genuinely makes her healthier/happier.

Mike, on the other hand, wasn’t such a big fan. After barely logging any steps at all, he asks Samuel to wear it for the day, only to get himself in hot water when Samuel ends up walking over seven miles (waiters are on their feet a lot).

6 The Good Wife, Episode 6 (7.5)

Everybody has menial chores around the house that they hate doing – Mike is no exception. However, when things start to pile up in the Flynn household and none of the ladies seem bothered by it, Mike decides to speak up and tell them that things need to change (especially since Molly is procrastinating writing her book).

In response, Molly tries to get revenge by turning into the “perfect housewife” and begins pampering Mike by doing all his chores and bringing him breakfast in bed – but her plan backfires when Mike ends up loving all of it.

5 The Wreck of the Vincent Moranto, Episode 8 (7.5)

Mike and Vince were never incredibly close throughout the course of the series (mostly made up of humorous chit-chat on the living room couch) but things seemed like they might change during this episode when Vince buys a rusted old boat that he and Mike spend hours remodeling together.

However, events take a sad turn when Vince sells the boat without telling Mike, erasing any possibility of the two bonding whilst sailing it together. It’s then revealed that Vince’s false promises brought up unresolved childhood issues for Mike due to false promises that his father had made him, prompting Vince to apologize and the two men make-up.

4 Peg’O My Heart Attack, Episode 3 (7.6)

The strained relationship between Peggy and Molly always made for hilarious content, but things escalated quickly during this episode when Molly gets into a verbal fight with her mother-in-law – causing Peggy to have a heart attack. With Peggy recovering in the hospital, Mike decidedly informs Molly that she was the one in the wrong and that she’s never even tried to like Peggy.

However, when Molly goes to Peggy’s bedside to apologize, Peggy reveals she was hurt that Molly still didn’t consider her a friend… to which Molly replies that they are friends.

3 Cops on the Rocks, Episode 1 (7.7)

Picking up right where season 5 left off, the premiere follows the story that Mike and Carl were fighting with one another, so much so that they requested new partners at work. However, after just one shift with their new partners, Carl and Mike realize that their fight was pointless and they bury the hatchet.

Meanwhile, Molly and Peggy had spent season five writing a book together and the premiere followesthe story of Molly trying to get a refusing Peggy to show up to the NPR interviews to help promote it.

2 Baby, Please Don’t Go, Episode 9 (7.8)

As stated above, Mike and Molly had been trying to have a child since season 3 but had come up short. However, things took a turn when Molly ran into one of her former students during this episode. The student, Frannie, was homeless and eight months pregnant, prompting Molly to bring her home and take her in.

After some discussion and an attempt to return Frannie to her family (which fails horribly), it’s revealed that Frannie is going to put her baby up for adoption… so Molly immediately informs her that she and Mike will take it.

1 I See Love, Episode 13 (8.7)

The final episode of the series was also the highest-rated episode(by a long-shot) and it truly gave fans everything they could have asked for in a finale. While Mike and Molly await the arrival of their adopted-baby, all of the characters sit in the hospital waiting room as they reminisce on the past six years.

Not only do Carl and Victoria get back together, as well as Mike and Molly’s child being born… but Molly reveals to everyone that she herself has gotten pregnant as well. The series ends with Mike and Molly cradling their new-born baby to sleep.
