Mike Tyson isn’t just a former icon in the boxing world, he’s become a known figure in the television and movie industry as well. He was once known for his “unique” behavior inside and outside the boxing ring, not to mention his deplorable criminal background, and has become famous and infamous for these very reasons.

However, even before he retired as a boxer, he began to show up in both cameos as himself and other characters along the way. He even had his own show called Mike Tyson Mysteries, though it was canceled after four seasons. While some of the TV shows and movies in which he made an appearance are highly rated by viewers, others slightly miss the mark.

10 The Hangover Part II – 6.5

The Hangover proved to be a major hit in 2009, so it was only natural that The Hangover Part II was released in 2011. Two years after the bachelor party that went terribly wrong happened, the foursome travel to Thailand for Stu’s wedding, but not only are the original four there, another familiar face showed up too: Mike Tyson.

When Alan surprises “his third best friend Stu” with Mike Tyson as the musical entertainment, no one saw it coming. Mike’s singing voice is memorable and it is the perfect ending to the insane storyline of the movie.

9 Who’s The Boss? (Sam Accelerates) – 6.9

The 1980s proved to be a decade of iconic show and movies, and Who’s the Boss is just as iconic. Starring Tony Danza, Judith Light, and Alyssa Milano, a retired baseball player named Tony Micelli (Danza) becomes the housekeeper for a high-powered woman in New York to help raise her kids with the help of the woman’s man-crazed mother.

In the episode “Sam Accelerates” in 1990, Mike Tyson turns up at their door after Tony impersonates him. It’s a moment that was surprising and delightful to watch. In fact, Who’s the Boss is one of the rare television shows that has actually aged well, and it remains a fan favorite decades later.

8 Rocky Balboa – 7.1

The Rocky series has gone down in history as some of the best movies that have portrayed the boxing world. The movies came out in the 1980s and 1990s, but Rocky himself, Sylvester Stallone, decided to bring back the story in 2006 in a film called Rocky Balboa.

There are a number of sports personalities in the movie, but Mike Tyson makes an epic appearance. Mike taunts Rocky’s opponent Dixon before they enter the ring and fight against each other. It was the perfect cameo for a storyline that was revived 30 years after the original movies.

Director Wilson Yip came out with the original IP Man in 2008 and went on to create three more fairly successful movies, but it was IP Man 3 where Mike Tyson got some screentime, in which he played a man named Frank.

The third installment is based on the life of the Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man and his low-profile life in Hong Kong. Mike Tyson is Frank, a property developer and popular boxer from America who has links to the local Triads, an organized-crime group that is located in Hong Kong. Overall, Ip Man 3 is action-packed and Mike Tyson makes his character his own. The Ip Man movies are great watches if viewers love Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

6 Tyson Vs. Jaws: Rumble On The Reef – 7.2

Shark Week is a span of days in August that brings shark fans together to revel in the footage caught on camera. This show is loved by many people, including Mike Tyson. It’s an unlikely pairing that Mike would want to rumble with the sharks, but it makes sense because he always down for a challenge.

In this episode, Mike faces his fears as he swims with sharks. It’s unfortunate that Shark Week is only one week out of the year, but there are plenty of other shows to watch in between that are similar to it.

5 How I Met Your Mother (Bad Crazy) – 7.6

From 2005 to 2014, How I Met Your Mother was one of the best comedy shows on television and it starred Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, and Neil Patrick Harris. The show has a unique approach to the storyline by focusing on a man and his four friends and how he came to meet the mother of his children.

In season eight, Mike Tyson decided to get in on the laughs, and make an appearance as himself in the episode called, “Bad Crazy.” It becomes an adventure between Robin and Mike when she’s unsure about holding her baby Marvin. This episode of How I Met Your Mother might demonstrated some bad parenting choices, among a few others throughout the show.

4 The Hangover – 7.7

When The Hangover came out in 2009, it brought viewers a new kind of humor and a fresh storyline that had laughs, shock, and a baby. The movie is about a bachelor party in Las Vegas that goes very, very wrong. It stars Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha and Ed Helms, who were perfectly cast for their parts.

Along the way, they end up taking Mike Tyson’s tiger, and like any tiger owner, he wants it back. Mike makes his grand appearance when he is jamming out to Phil Collins in the guys’ hotel room. The outrageous mess the guys have gotten themselves into is perfectly wrapped up in a bow when Mike Tyson decides to make a cameo and knocks out Alan, played by Zach Galifianakis, which is one of the movie’s funniest scenes.

3 To Tell The Truth (Season 5, Episode 11) – 8.5

To Tell the Truth is a comedy game-show that is all about determining the truth amongst a few lies. Starring Anthony Anderson, he invites four celebrities onto each episode, while they try to guess the contestant’s odd distinction or occupation.

So far, there have been a lot of notable celebrities on the show, but at the end of season five, Mike Tyson decided to make an appearance on the celeb panel. He was also joined by Rumer Willis, Deon Cole, and Jenna Fischer. The episode was one of many that received very high reviews, and one of the reasons is probably because of Mike’s persona.

2 The Last O.G. (The Breaks) – 8.4

Created by Jon Carcieri and Jordan Peele, and starring Tracy Morgan, Tiffany Haddish, and Ryan Gaul, The Last O.G. is about an ex-con that is shocked when he realizes the world is not like he left it before he went to prison.

In the episode, “The Breaks,” Mike Tyson shows up as Triple O.G. and gives Tray Barker, played by Tracy Morgan, a little bit of a reality check and a hard slap to go along with it.

1 Entourage (Bottoms Up) – 8.2

Mike Tyson makes an appearance as himself in one of the best shows of the mid-to-late 2010s: Entourage. Ari, played by Jeremy Piven, tries to strike a deal with several celebrities, Mike Tyson included. Mike wants to revamp his image, so he comes to Ari with an idea to pitch a scripted reality show, something like The Brady Bunch.

Jessica Simpson also makes an appearance in the show, and Mike wants her to be the Carol Brady character. It’s funny, random, and Mike brings his A-game to his appearance. Entourage was known for its cameos that include popular directors and other famous  celebrities.
