An extremely intricate Minecraft build hides a complex Creeper farm inside a colorful hot air balloon. Mojang’s hugely popular survival sandbox game released back in 2009, and the game has only risen in popularity in the years since. Minecraft‘s sandbox nature allows players to gather resources to build any number of imaginative structures.

Minecraft‘s large and dedicated fanbase regularly creates truly breathtaking builds using the game’s simple but effective toolset. Reddit user mattbatwings2 recently created a massive screen which is used to play the puzzle game Tetris within the world of Minecraft. This game-within-a-game was created using Redstone, a Minecraft mechanic which allows users to program various technological blocks. The build allows players to use a series of levers to control the Tetris blocks, accurately translating the iconic title’s rules into Mojang’s sandbox. Another dedicated Minecraft player and Reddit user, bubbaflubba2, recently unveiled their progress on a blocky recreation of Las Vegas. While the project is not yet finished, an incredible level of detail and sense of scale is already portrayed by this recreation of the Gambling Capitol of the World.

Minecraft architect and Reddit user SouNano recently showed off an impressive hot air balloon which doubles as a Creeper farm. Many Minecraft players create farms which allow them to efficiently spawn and kill hostile mobs, allowing them to effortlessly collect the mob’s valuable resources. However, SouNano has gone the extra mile by building their Creeper mob inside a massive and colorful hot air balloon, which is appropriately adorned by the Creeper’s iconic face. The basket of the balloon includes a Nether portal for ease of travel and various chests to store the collected resources. Meanwhile, the balloon itself contains the bulk of the farm’s architecture, including a waterfall to pull the helpless Creepers into the farm.

While Minecraft‘s massive playerbase constantly constructs new and exciting builds, the game’s developer also continues to improve upon the game. Mojang recently released part one of the Caves & Cliffs Update, an official update which seeks to improve the game’s mountains and caves. The first part of the two-part expansion included new features such as the aquatic Axolotls mob, calcite and amethyst minerals and several new in-game achievements. The second part of Caves & Cliffs is expected to arrive by the end of 2021.

Minecraft‘s vast and ever-expanding arsenal of tools allows players to bring their imaginations to life. While mob farms are an efficient way to gather resources, SouNano was able to combine this efficiency with a lovely bit of artistry. The hot air balloon is not only visually appealing, but it also allows the Creeper farm to fit together in an organic way.

Minecraft is available on all platforms.
