This new Minecraft build shows how much of a difference four months of progress can make when trying to build Star Trek’s famous USS Enterprise. It’s quite common for Minecraft players to outperform each other in similar projects, but to surpass one’s own self is a sign of dedication worthy of respect.

Famous Minecraft builders probably started like every other survivalist in the voxel universe – with square houses made of dirt and cobblestone. Therefore, it’s highly likely that YouTube content creator Planet Dragonod went a long way before embarking on a quest to build a massive replica of the Hogwarts School of Wizardry in Minecraft. It took the player roughly two years to perfect the build, but the result was totally worth all the effort put into it.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

A Reddit user named MattJohno2 has recently demonstrated how much can change in one’s ability to build creatively in Minecraft after just four months of persistent progress. Previously, the player shared an image of a mini replica of Star Trek’s iconic USS Enterprise spaceship. The initial build was not bad, but it definitely lacked details. Four months later, MattJohno2 is back with a comparison video, which shows the impressive progress the builder has made during that time. The footage highlights the incomparable difference between the original attempt to make a USS Enterprise replica and the latest endeavor, the result of which is a massive, insanely detailed starship. Increased scale definitely benefits the project as it looks faithful and authentic to the point that it almost feels real.

Since Minecraft’s blocks are quite large compared to the player model, it’s a common approach for gamers to increase the scale of their builds so it’s easier to work with believable shapes and finer details. One of the recent examples is an incredible statue of NieR Automata’s 2B android, which occupies a whole mountain in Minecraft. Although the monument looks absolutely stunning as a finished product, the most impressive part of the creation is watching it come to life in real time.

Although undeniably spectacular, gigantic Minecraft builds have an obvious downside to them. Since such projects are enormous, it’s usually hard to view them from a regular player’s perspective. The massive USS Enterprise replica, for instance, requires a giant hollow space to view it and the activated Creative mode to avoid any possible obstructions. As such, large Minecraft builds are more of a museum exhibit, needing the perfect conditions to be fully enjoyed. Still, the amount of effort and dedication put into such projects is always impressive and worth admiring.

Minecraft is available on all platforms.
