To try kicking their smoking habit, one user on Reddit has spent much of their free time creating modern-style mansions inside of Mojang Studios’ Minecraft. Since its initial release over 10 years ago, Minecraft’s robust building tools have allowed many a player to explore their wildest imaginations in-game.

From massive cities and ornate homes to mini-games and full-blown adventure stories, users continue to outdo themselves in terms of creative Minecraft designs. And as with any project boasting detailed crafting and building mechanics, Mojang Studios’ hit title has played host to countless recreations of pop culture touchstones. Fallout‘s iconic wasteland is no stranger to appearing in the world of Minecraft, for example. Lord of the Rings-inspired designs remain popular as well, with some players even managing to recreate the entirety of Middle-Earth. Of course, the likes of Batman pop up every so often, too, with statues, the Batmobile, and the Batcave counting as common in-game creations. Sometimes, though, users also put their energy into decorating Minecraft dream homes.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Recently, Reddit user PyreOfDeath97 shared screenshots of their Minecraft-made “modern mansions.” Some designs seem a bit fancier than others on the surface, but each one features an exterior packed with incredible attention to detail. The homes’ surrounding areas warrant praise in their own right as well, with PyreOfDeath97 evidently spending a considerable amount of time fleshing out nearby forested areas, outdoor pools, and pathway-laden yards. Most interesting, however, is that the Redditor accomplished all of this as a way to help them give up smoking. This “relaxing” alternative seems a smart way of sinking spare time into far less harmful.

As evidenced by the above photos, PyreOfDeath97’s work is nothing short of impressive. In response to questions in the Reddit thread, the user noted that they, specifically, relied on the Flows HD texture pack for their designs. Anyone should be able to build mansions of their own, then.

Mojan Studios celebrated Minecraft’s 10th anniversary a couple of years ago in 2019. Despite the title’s age, new content drops and updates have yet to cease, often giving fans new reasons to drop back into the experience. Other types of Mincreaft experiences have gone to market since the brand’s 2009 release, as well. Minecraft Dungeons hit stores just last year, for example, offering an action RPG dungeon crawler that’s unlike anything else in the series.

Minecraft is available across Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Android, and iOS platforms.
