Minecraft Player Builds NieR Automata’s 2B In Awesome Timelapse Video

Equipped with nothing but pure skill, a Minecraft player managed to build a giant statue of NieR Automata’s protagonist 2B by hand, showcasing the process in a stunning timelapse video. Minecraft is rife with massive and gorgeous builds, and a timelapse video is always a good way to showcase the effort that goes into these remarkable structures.

Roughly a month ago, a player tried to imagine what would happen if Thor had lost his trusty magic hammer, Mjolnir, in the world of Minecraft. As expected, the idea quickly turned into an artistic build, which was featured in yet another timelapse video. Although the result wasn’t a massive structure overshadowing the surrounding landscape, it was still a very impressive build thanks to the artist’s clever use of details and textures.

On Reddit, another talented Minecraft builder named -Tiddy- shared an awesome timelapse video of a giant statue of 2B, the android from NieR Automata, built from scratch. It took the player 16 hours to complete the project in Creative mode. According to the author, no building mods like WordEdit were used in creating the stunning sculpture. The surrounding scenery, however, was drawn using the WorldPainter mod. Additionally, the player admitted to cheating slightly in order to make the process of constructing giant 2B a little less complicated. It turns out that the first step was to make a simplified human model in the Blender 3D editor to understand the overall direction of building a believable statue. The player then replicated parts of the human model in Minecraft’s voxel world to get a clear view of proportions. Finally, the builder proceeded to create 2B in real-time, sharing the timelapse video with the community after the fact.

In an attempt to elevate regular timelapse videos of Minecraft builds to a whole new level of awesomeness, another player went as far as rendering a proper animated short. The video features a self-assembling Minecraft house, which might look simple as a structure, but makes an impression of something extremely masterful thanks to all the stunning animations and smart details. It brilliantly highlights the feeling of satisfaction when performing such an ordinary task as making a cabin in the game.

For complex structures like giant video game characters, Minecraft builders tend to use special tools to turn 3D models into voxel structures. Then, the results are usually imported into a Minecraft world, requiring little to no manual work to finalize. -Tiddy- chose the hard way of doing a similar task by creating 2B completely by hand in real-time, which is why the latest build can be defined as proper art. For that alone, the talented player deserves recognition and respect.
