An ingenious Minecraft inventor came up with a Redstone-based design for a self-assembling railroad, which dynamically disassembles itself after use. The red dust known as Redstone, which is the counterpart to real-life electricity, has been used by fans to create numerous bizarre and fascinating structures.

One creative Minecraft player, for instance, built a massive chemistry lab, which not only looks remarkable from an architectural standpoint, but also serves a practical purpose. According to the author, the lab is used to test designs for various Redstone contraptions, while some of the objects in the room, including an analog clock, are actually functional. The most impressive part of the build is that it was executed purely in vanilla Minecraft with zero mods involved.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Another impressive Redstone-based Minecraft build was created by a Reddit user named MisterInSayne. The player shared a video of a self-assembling railroad between two underground stations, and the incredible accuracy of the smoothly working mechanisms is hard to believe. It’s not even the core concept that’s impressive, but the fact that the user was able to get it working this seamlessly. It’s common knowledge that Minecraft railways tend to break if pushed by pistons, and according to the player, it took careful timing and a lot of testing to make the project operate as intended. Apparently the build uses brand-new piston designs that have never been seen before. The author promises to share a world download and a tutorial video once the build is further improved and polished. According to MisterInSayne, it is more of a proof-of-concept, which the builder plans to use for a work-in-progress puzzle map.

Although using Redstone in Minecraft in almost any way takes considerable skill, greater results can be achieved with properly programmed mods. Modifying the vanilla client with additional features is like discovering a whole new universe of possibilities, as demonstrated by a recently invented art-making machine in the form of a TNT block. According to the author, a few tricks including a specific Python script were involved in making the concept a reality. The result is a regular-looking TNT block capable of creating pictures on a flat Minecraft world using only explosions.

Among the many impressive features present in Minecraft, Redstone is perhaps one of the most remarkable. If used inventively and correctly, it can result in unbelievably functional projects including proper computers built within the game. When paired with command blocks, Redstone contraptions can be used to make just about anything a player can think of, and that’s one of the many things that make creative opportunities in Minecraft virtually endless.

Minecraft is available on all platforms.
