A Minecraft user built an enormous red panda sculpture in-game that looks incredibly impressive. Since its release well over a decade ago, Minecraft has continued to evolve in myriad ways, from the tools it provides to the biomes in which players can freely explore. And developer Mojang Studios’ support for the sandbox game shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

In-game builds have become more elaborate as time goes on. User-created cities in Minecraft take the internet by storm every so often, for example. The same holds true for builds of lengthy highway systems, full-sized bridges, and real-world monuments like Cathedrals. Players have even given life to mountain kingdoms and erupting volcanos inside the pixelated world of Minecraft. Before the launch of Caves & Cliffs Update Part 2, one user managed to craft a winding pirate cave complete with bridges and watercourses that would appeal to many a swashbuckler. Sometimes, though, creations that seem less elaborate on paper can prove quite impressive in their own right.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

This past weekend, Reddit user Wolfbiom shared a few screenshots of a red panda sculpture they built in Minecraft. The large statue depicts a red panda making its way across a leaf-covered tree branch; it’s quite a sight to behold; it’s quite the sight to behold. Each detail deserves a round of applause, especially the structure and design of the animal’s face and the pattern of dark fur lining its tail. In a separate post within the Reddit thread, Wolfbiom said tools such as Voxelsniper and WorldEdit proved a big help, though many of the blocks were hand-placed using reference images. Get a glimpse of the Minecraft red panda build in the screenshots featured below:

As is often the case, this player-made Minecraft creation appears to have been rather time-consuming. But the results seem worth it, particularly given the popularity of Wolfbiom’s post on the official Minecraft subreddit.

This year was a big one for the ever-popular Mojang Studios title. In June, the studio rolled out Caves & Cliffs Update Part 1, providing users with acccess to a litany of new blocks, creatures, items, and plants. The second part of the Caves & Cliffs Update went live in late November, most notably introducing overhauled terrain generation, elaborate cave systems, extra tools, and even more blocks. Next year could prove equally exciting.

Minecraft is available to play now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Android, and iOS platforms.
