The cast of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir announced that they are finally being given higher rates after wage disputes with production company Zag Entertainment. Reba Buhr, who has voiced various cartoon characters on the show, including Rose Lavillant and Juleka Couffaine, shocked viewers by revealing that she wouldn’t be returning to her roles. She detailed various ways that the cast was allegedly being mistreated during rate negotiations. After apparently being denied a raise, Buhr said that she was being recast, leading several other cast members to leave as well.

Upon hearing the news that most of the Miraculous Ladybug cast was leaving, fans were understandably devastated, leading to petitions to have the actors’ wages increased. Unfortunately, this type of underpayment is not uncommon, and animation fans are starting to see more voice actors speak out about this. Recently John DiMaggio made headlines when it was in question whether or not he’d be returning to Futurama as the voice of Bender. With this new pay increase, fans can look forward to hearing those familiar actors voicing their favorite characters in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.
