With players like Tina Fey, Anne Hathaway, Dev Patel, Catherine Keener, and John Slattery showcased in season 1, Modern Love’s season 2 is simply staying par for the course. The series’ showrunner, John Carney, is no stranger to love. Carney wrote and directed the popular Irish dramas Once and SingStreet, both of which yanked at the heartstrings of anyone who has loved and lost. Love, being inherently complicated, messy, and inconvenient at times, remains timeless and universally desired. While streaming services like Amazon boast a number of romantic movies and TV shows that explore this concept, Modern Love‘s take on stories submitted by real people exposes a unique light on how complicated relationships actually can get. With its August 13th release date on Amazon Prime, fans who are anticipating another round of romance won’t have to wait much longer.
