In Monster Sanctuary, players collect pixel art monsters while exploring a Metroidvania-style world and can train and evolve some of them into other forms. Unlike in Pokémon, Evolutions in Monster Sanctuary do not upgrade the monster to a totally different kind of creature. Instead, the evolution serves as an alternative form for the Monster, and each evolved creature will still retain its shift and shift passives. They will, however, have different stats, strengths, and weaknesses in their evolved forms. Players can also find the evolved form of these Monsters in the wild, and, when they drop eggs, they will drop the egg of the pre-evolved form. Players must directly intervene to evolve a Monster to a new form.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

To evolve a Monster, players will need to head to the northern part of the Ancient Woods and find a large Tree, called the Tree of Evolution. There, they can evolve certain monsters. They will also need to have a specialty item called a Catalyst. Players can get Catalysts from chests, as loot drops from Monsters, or in various Reward Boxes. Most Catalysts only evolve one kind of monster, though there is at least one that can evolve four different Monsters. Here’s every Catalyst in Monster Sanctuary and where players can find them.

How to Find Catalysts in Monster Sanctuary

There are 13 Catalysts in Monster Sanctuary. Players can either get them as rewards or from Chests, or they can earn them from defeating an evolved version of the Monster. Here’s every available Catalyst, which Monster they evolve, and where to get them:
