Oscar Isaac’s take on Moon Knight is being celebrated with the latest Funko Pop that features the character with a lunar glow. Moon Knight premiered on Disney+ on March 30, 2022, and is a limited miniseries following Marc Spector/Steven Grant (a.k.a. Moon Knight). The series follows Grant, an unassuming and gentle gift shop keeper, who has frequent blackouts and often wakes up in random places with no remembrance of how he got there. When he wakes up in a different country one day and finds himself at odds with a religious cult leader Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke), he learns he has an aggressive and lethal second personality inside him.

Additionally, Grant has the voice of Khonshu (F. Murray Abraham), the Egyptian moon god, living inside him too. Grant will have to learn to work with his alternate personality and draw power from the moon god to stop Harrow from awakening Ammitt, the goddess of damned souls. With its focus on dissociative identity disorder and Egyptology, Moon Knight is shaping up to be vastly different than any MCU project so far. However, Moon Knight is already receiving positive reviews, and many have praised Isaac’s performance.

Marvel has unveiled its first round of Moon Knight merchandise, including a Funko Pop available for pre-order through Entertainment Earth. The Moon Knight Funko Pop is a simple depiction of Moon Knight in a kicking pose that will be available in August 2022 and will cost $11.99. A smaller-scale keychain version of the same Funko Pop will also be available for $5.99. Meanwhile, Hot Topic is also releasing an exclusive Moon Knight Funko Pop that glows in the dark. Check out the Funko Pop below:

The Moon Knight Funko Pop is likely just the beginning of a line of merchandise for the series. As Moon Knight continues to pick up momentum, other characters may get Funko Pops, as well as other forms of merchandise. For now, though, the Funko Pop is a nice celebration of Isaac’s take on the character. The Funko Pop’s lunar grow is especially unique, as it mimics how Moon Knight’s eye glow when he draws power from Khonshu.

Moon Knight‘s Funko Pop merch is just another indication of the potential that Moon Knight has. While it is only a six-episode series, many are anticipating it will surpass Disney+’s other Marvel shows in audience score. This may be because Moon Knight shifts into a psychological horror genre not often explored by Marvel, and it also has the allure of two big names in Hollywood behind it – Isaac and Hawke. Meanwhile, the series is likely only going to improve from here on out, as Moon Knight‘s director has warned episodes 5 and 6 are crazier and darker than the rest of the show. Moon Knight’s Funko Pop is the first step in celebrating the Moon Knight series, but as time goes on, one can expect an uptake in merch and media surrounding the show.
