Moon Knight set video shows a mysterious figure leaping through the air, and it might provide the first look at the show’s rumored villain, Midnight Man. Marvel Studios announced plans for a Moon Knight Disney+ show back in 2019, and they later confirmed that Oscar Isaac would play the lead role of Marc Spector. The series is among the most anticipated of Disney+’s Marvel Cinematic Universe offerings, thanks to the combination of Isaac’s potential performance and the fascination with Moon Knight as a character with multiple personalities.

Despite Marvel confirming that Moon Knight was in the works, details on the series itself have been kept under wraps. It is known that Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy will star opposite Isaac, but the identities of their characters are still a secret. Hawke has been linked to various Marvel characters, while Calamawy is most likely playing Spector’s main love interest Marlene Alraune. It was recently discovered that Gaspard Ulliel is in Moon Knight too, and he is reportedly playing one of the show’s villains, Midnight Man.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Production on Moon Knight has been ongoing for the last few months, but nothing substantial has leaked from the set so far. However, a new set video was captured by Instagram user tibor.proart that shows a mysterious powered individual leaping into the air. The quality of the video makes it difficult to get a great look at the character, which led to a lot of speculation that this could be Moon Knight in action. But, the character in question appears to be wearing a mostly black suit, not Spector’s iconic all-white attire. Instead of the Moon Knight video showing a look at the lead character, this might be the first look at Midnight Man in action. The video was originally featured on an expiring Instagram story, but it now is circulating on YouTube.

Anton Mogart aka Midnight Man has an all-black suit in the comics and is an expert thief who had repeated encounters with Moon Knight. While Mogart has no powers to speak of that would give him the leaping/flying abilities shown in Moon Knight‘s set video, his son in the comics does. Anton’s son Jeffrey Wilde is cybernetically enhanced, and one of his abilities is rocket-powered feet. Since the MCU is unlikely to use Mogart’s Midnight Man and Wilde’s Midnight, Marvel Studios could’ve updated Anton by giving him some of Jeffrey’s technological enhancements to make him a better foe for Moon Knight.

Even though this isn’t the best look at what Moon Knight will offer, it is still exciting to see something from the show. With it not expected to debut on Disney+ until sometime in 2022, the wait for an official look at the series could still be several months away. This possible look at Midnight Man ultimately doesn’t show too much, unless it shows how Marvel is updating the villain for Moon Knight‘s purposes.
