Thanks to new, official MCU merchandise, fans now get a closer look at Moon Knight‘s cape taking a wing form when in action. Phase 4 has been all about introducing the next generation of heroes following Avengers: Endgame, which permanently changed the game for the long-running franchise. In the last couple of films and Disney+ shows, the MCU has been introducing new iterations of legacy players, such as Yelena Belova in Black Widow and Kate Bishop in Hawkeye. But Marvel Studios is also bringing in new faces, especially ones that fans have been waiting to see for a long time. One of these is Marc Spector, a.k.a. Moon Knight, who will be portrayed by Oscar Isaac in the upcoming limited series that debuts on March 30.

The Marvel drama will explore the complex hero who suffers from dissociative identity disorder, making it one of the more serious MCU properties. Moon Knight only recently kicked off its marketing, as the first full trailer gave fans a close look at the mercenary’s MCU debut. Based on the footage shown so far, Moon Knight could have a similar tone to Daredevil, which ran for three seasons on Netflix. Even though Disney+ has been able to go into slightly darker territories, Isaac’s show looks to set a new bar for the streamer.

One of the elements that the show’s marketing has been focusing on is Moon Knight’s iconic costume, which is being recreated in live-action for the first time. As the show approaches its premiere date, official merchandise has started to roll out, some of which provides a better look at his suit than has been released so far. This includes a pair of shirts (via Amazon), with one of them displaying Spector’s huge cape that turns into wings when in action. Check out the shirts below:

When it comes to superhero capes, many studios and networks have different ways of adapting them. Nowadays, it’s becoming more common to make them completely CGI when filming a lot of heavy action scenes, but only a few characters have capes that visually stand out – and Moon Knight’s is one of them. Aside from the fact that Marc has a full-on white costume, a color many characters don’t go with, he also dons a glider cloak, which gives the character a generally angelic look. If the live-action adaptation makes it literally look like wings, Moon Knight will look especially striking.

Since his look has gone through many evolutions in the comics, fans will surely appreciate the series taking on the most iconic one. Despite a risk of looking ridiculous when taken from page to screen, the Moon Knight costume department has clearly done a solid job in making it blend in with the rest of the MCU. With less than two months to go before Moon Knight premieres on Disney+, it looks like fans will be in for a treat as the MCU introduces one of its potentially darkest heroes of all time.
