Godzilla vs. Kong‘s writer teases there are more Titans asleep in Hollow Earth. The latest installment of the MonsterVerse franchise finally saw Godzilla and Kong fight multiple times. The clash of the two alpha Titans could potentially be where the franchise ends, but Godzilla vs. Kong also set up several other new elements that future movies can explore. This included the first proper visit to Hollow Earth.

The MonsterVerse previously teased the Hollow Earth theory, which suggested another world for the Titans was in the middle of Earth. Godzilla vs. Kong took viewers and the movie’s characters to the new location momentarily. The ancient home of the Titans is where Kong found the mighty axe he used to fight Godzilla and was the home to a powerful energy source Apex used to power Mechagodzilla. During the time in Hollow Earth, Kong encounters a few other Titans, but the movie doesn’t include as many monsters as fans might have expected.

Godzilla vs. Kong‘s writer Max Borenstein recently spoke to Collider about several aspects of the new MonsterVerse movie. This included discussing the size of Hollow Earth and if it secretly was the home to other Titans. Borenstein was specifically asked if other monsters were asleep in the location, and he said, “Oh, I would venture to say there must be, right? It’s a big hollow world.”

Other monsters can be seen in Godzilla vs. Kong‘s Hollow Earth, but most of them might not classify as Titans. The biggest creatures Kong encountered during his short time there were the Warbats, the two winged-serpent monsters who attacked him soon after arrival. However, Godzilla vs. Kong doesn’t spend nearly enough time in Hollow Earth to fully explore the location. Only a fraction of the space has been shown, so it would make sense that there are other Titans scattered across it.

If there are other asleep Titans in Hollow Earth, it will take future installments of the MonsterVerse to show them. This could be where some of the Titans confirmed in Godzilla: King of the Monsters now reside after submitting to Godzilla or in an effort by them to steer clear of the alpha. Of course, the expansive terrain of Hollow Earth can also be a way for the MonsterVerse to add other classic Toho monsters to the franchise. Since Kong calls Hollow Earth his new home at the end of Godzilla vs. Kong, the continuation of his story would surely mean more of the location and the reveals of what other Titans are down there with him.
