For Mortal Kombat 11 players, Kombat Pack 2 was a huge surprise that contained Mileena, Rain, and John Rambo. Nobody was really expecting it after the already large roster of DLC characters that came prior. It’s enough to make fans wonder if the rumors about a third Kombat Pack are true.

Mortal Kombat 11 is still going strong and with the new Mortal Kombat movie, Netherrealm Studios are likely not done with the game. Of course, the star attractions for every Kombat Pack are typically the guest characters but there are also many classic Mortal Kombat characters that would be amazing to see in Mortal Kombat 11‘s style.

10 Classic Character Who Should Return: Reptile

Technically, Reptile is in Mortal Kombat 11 but only as a cameo in the Krypt. It’s a nice cameo with a reference to the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie but Reptile deserved more. Reptile was one of Kotal Kahn and Outworld’s most revered warriors but he was nowhere to be found in Mortal Kombat11‘s two campaigns.

The customization of Mortal Kombat 11 could appease all fans. Those that prefer more classic ninja Reptile and those that prefer his more reptilian designs. As a bonus, Reptile could get movie skins based on the original film and the new reboot.

9 Guest Fighter Who Should Join: Katana

The Joker proved that DC characters could work in Mortal Kombat‘s gory and violent world. One that never made it into the Injustice games but would fit well is Katana. With her soul-taker katana, iconic mask, and incredible skill set, that rivals the likes of Deathstroke, Katana would be a perfect addition.

Mortal Kombat 11 could be another way for Fukuhara to expand on Katana. The games could add in detailed customization for her sword, mask, and outfit as a bonus. Katana could easily be a top-tier fighter.

8 Classic Character Who Should Return: Quan Chi

Quan Chi has always had a hard time establishing himself in the Mortal Kombat world. However, Mortal Kombat 11 has excelled at revamping lesser characters like Nightwolf, Sindel, and Frost into some of the best fighters.

If given new looks, a better combat system, and the right retooling: Quan Chi could finally be distinguished. Quan Chi’s design hasn’t changed that much over the years and his personality remained pretty static. Mortal Kombat 11 definitely could give him new life.

7 Guest Fighter Who Should Join: Mad Max

Since the movies tend to take overly long periods of time to be made, Mad Max could be used for other projects. The character already got his own game in 2015 which became a cult gem. If a sequel is never made, Max Rockatansky could fit easily since he’s no stranger to crazy and ultra-violent worlds.

Max has had several iconic looks over the films and the game to use plus some unique ones that Netherrealm could easily create. Max could also be a refreshing brawler character that would add another element to the game.

6 Guest Fighter Who Should Join: Classic Character Who Should Return: Ermac

Another Krypt cameo character: Ermac dies by falling into the pit from many games of the past. Unlike Reptile who was just a reused design from Mortal Kombat X, Ermac was given an entirely new look. Many fans argued that Ermac looked his absolute best so perhaps this was a tease for DLC.

However, Ermac never showed up in DLC and was only briefly mentioned in the story. Why bother creating such a detailed asset and never use it? Also, there haven’t really been any characters like Ermac thus far so he would fit back into the roster just fine.

5 Guest Fighter Who Should Join: T-1000

Khrome is made of liquid metal and can form weapons out of his body. The chances of Khrome being added are slim but since the Terminator was added, there’s no reason his greatest rival cannot join.

One could argue that the fast-paced shapeshifting and body morphing abilities make the T-1000 a better fit for Mortal Kombat than the Terminator. The T-1000 can take any form it wants so this could allow for multiple faces and skins. Plus, Mortal Kombat 11 shows it can make weapons out of liquid via Skarlet’s abilities.

4 Classic Character Who Should Return: Stryker

One of the most frustrating aspects of Mortal Kombat X was its overuse of NPCs. Some NPCs the player could actually fight but would never unlock. Stryker suffered the worst and since most of the NPCs became playable in Mortal Kombat 11, he should too. His mix of brawling and gunplay could make him a good Revenant rival for characters like Cassie and Sonya.

Stryker was one of the more underrated characters of Mortal Kombat 9, but there’s always room for an upgrade. His Revenant was nowhere to be seen in MK11 which disappointed fans. With new gear and skins, his SWAT outfit could allow for even better looks for the character.

3 Guest Fighter Who Should Join: Ash Williams

When DLC leaks first came out, originally Kombat Pack 1 was said to feature Ash Williams from the Evil Dead franchise. Since Mortal Kombat X excelled with its horror characters, everyone was excited. However, though every other DLC character rumored to appear did so, Ash did not manifest.

Ash is an iconic eighties hero much like Terminator, Rambo, and RoboCop so he would fit right in. Ash would also be Mortal Kombat 11‘s first horror character. His mix of chainsaw and shotgun-based combat would make for some fun gameplay. Of course, Ash’s signature silly yet awesome banter would make for him rivaling Johnny Cage for the funniest character.

2 Classic Character Who Should Return: Nitara

Nitara is set to make her live-action debut in the Mortal Kombat reboot. Nitara is a bit of an obscure character from what many considered the weakest era of games, but she has potential.

Frost was given a revamp and so was Fujin much to the surprise of fans. Perhaps if given a new design, a unique vampiric skill set, and extra skins based on the movie, Nitara could also become a fan favorite.

1 Guest Fighter Who Should Join: John Wick

John Wick would be a great addition to the game, bringing his hybrid of gunslinger and martial artist skills. John Wick has also become one of the most successful action franchises of the last decade. The way the movies combine pure fun with intense, thrilling action and intriguing mythology reminds fans of Mortal Kombat.

John Wick was also a guest character in games like Payday 2 and Fortnite,  so there’s a good precedent for his appearance. Cyberpunk 2077 also proves that actor Keanu Reeves is not against appearing in games. Keanu would likely be all for providing the motion capture for John Wick as well. Altogether, John Wick would be an awesome character to see in Mortal Kombat.
