Recently, Whitney has had a bout of health issues that left TLC viewers feeling pretty worried. Since her tragic breakup with Chase Severino, Whitney has done her best to move on with her life. The latest season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life showed the dancer moving back to Greensboro, NC, and bonding with her friends. While self-isolating, Whitney fell in love with her French tutor thanks to a language app that left her heart aflutter. Even though Whitney’s heart health is perfectly fine, fans have noticed a laundry list of medical issues. My Big Fat Fabulous Life season 9 showed Whitney considering IVF in hopes of becoming a mother. Followers admire Whitney because she always maintains a positive attitude, despite an array of health issues.

Fans have known that Whitney has been living with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and she often talks about the highs and lows of her condition. Whitney has also been transparent about her weight gain story with her followers. At the age of 23, she was diagnosed with this condition but had symptoms for most of her life. Polycystic ovary syndrome affects one in ten women. According to the Mayo Clinic, symptoms of PCOS include late periods, weight gain, hair loss, and facial hair. Whitney often spoke about the classic PCOS symptoms, which for her consisted of “bearding, balding, and being fat.” The medical field classifies PCOS as a condition where the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of hormones known as androgens.

Whitney had to go to the hospital a few times while filming the show. The first came shortly after her breakup with Chase, as she was rushed to the hospital for chest pain. During an episode of season 8, she was unsure what was wrong but decided to call an ambulance. After numerous tests, including an EKG, doctors revealed the cause of her pain was a panic attack. The latest season showed her having to take time out of her trip to Maine in order to get a tooth looked at. After a quick look, the culprit turned out to be a cavity, and the tooth was pulled.

Even though Whitney is working out and eating healthy, she still suffers from surprise health issues at times. For instance, fans might recall that one of her dance numbers caused her to be brought to the ER due to exhaustion. The My Big Fat Fabulous Life star was also diagnosed with depression at the age of 18 and has been dealing with it for the last 20 years. Whitney is using her platform to now bring awareness to her health issues since she knows she is not the only one to deal with these issues on a daily basis.
