Whitney Thore may be the star of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, but fans are loving her cat Henchi. The orange Persian cat has amassed quite a following on Instagram, winning the hearts of viewers. Although Whitney has two other cats, Ollie and Wanda, along with a poodle named Goose, fans particularly love keeping up with Henchi’s adventures.

Henchi has been in Whitney’s life since she moved to Korea after college, and she was immediately in love, fully naming him Henry-Kimchi. Whitney loves all of her cats but has admitted that Henchi is her favorite of the three. In the past, Whitney has shared that her cats have distinctly different personalities, but Henchi seems to have the most “attitude,” plus, never misses an opportunity to be in front of the camera.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Fans have loved him from the very beginning, but Henchi’s most memorable moment was in season 2 when Whitney and Babs entered him into a cat show. Although that may have been Henchi’s first taste of true stardom, Whitney has been documenting her life with Henchi on Instagram as far back as 2017. Even though she knew the answer, Whitney couldn’t help but engage with her fans on an Instagram post, writing, “My little lion baby. Just curious, which cat of mine is your fav and why is it Henchi?” The post was flooded with comments very similar to this one stating why fans love Henchi, “I love all of your cats but my favorite is Henchi. He’s just such a cutie and such a mood. I love him.” Ever since his first introduction to social media, fans can’t get enough of the lovable feline, and there are many reasons why. Long before Whitney became an inspiration, it was just her and Henchi. The 12 years old cat is devoted and loyal, and their close bond clearly resonates with fans.

Oftentimes, this leads them to reminisce about their own pets. Henchi’s permanent grumpy expression no matter what he is doing coupled with his “can’t be bothered” attitude is an endearing quality that makes him a fan favorite. When Henchi had a cancer-related health scare in 2019, Whitney reached out to her fans in a heartfelt post on Instagram. Whitney said, “This little baby has been having a hard time lately. Later this week, he’ll have some tests to make sure he doesn’t have cancer. He’s been with me for 12 years and I hope we have many more days ahead to make the most of.” Concerned fans were quick to show an outpouring of love and support to Whitney and Henchi. Many could relate to the worry and anxiety that Whitney was feeling and shared their own experiences to let her know they cared. One Instagram user commented, “My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have been through the loss of a pet that I loved dearly so I can understand where you’re at.”

Whitney has continued to keep fans updated on her adorable pet. Her recent posts show that Henchi is happy, healthy, and deeply loved. It is clear that Whitney’s pets bring unequivocal joy into her life, and she is happy to share those moments with fans. Henchi’s relatable antics, humorous grumpy attitude, and overall adorable and loving personality make him so well-loved by fans. My Big Fat Fabulous Life viewers can’t get enough of Henchi, and Whitney is more than happy to share the spotlight with her beloved furry friend.
