In the original game Fortune Lover, Catarina was a villain who was despised by everyone. The reincarnated Catarina spends her time actively avoiding doom flags and anything remotely villainous. However, she is enlisted in the school festival to play the Ugly Sister in a production of Cinderella, tapping into the old Catarina’s dialogue to portray a convincing villain.

Catarina’s wholesome moment comes when she loses the script that she has “cleverly” stuck to the inside of a handheld fan and is unable to remember her lines. She uses dialogue from the game to play a convincing villain, making the performance a success and impressing her friends.

When Catarina, Mary, and Sophia are stuck in a cabin during a thunderstorm, Sophia reveals that she is scared of lightning. Catarina takes Sophia’s hand and invites her to dance, distracting her from the scary sound. In Sophia’s imagination, Catarina helps her take down a dragon, and they pose together adorably at the end of their imaginary adventure.

School council president Sirius builds up a friendship with Catarina, but his past catches up to him and he is revealed to be a villain with dark magic. Sirius is a  villain who later becomes a good guy, taking back his old name Raphael to try and become a better person, thanks to Catarina’s influence.

Catarina’s most wholesome moment in this arc is her striding through the dark magic, solely focused on helping Sirius with no regard for her personal safety. She holds her hands out to him, intent on hearing his story and helping him through the pain.

5 Saved Her Friends By Eating A Book Alive

Catarina and her friends become trapped in a book that feeds off people’s desires. While her friends’ desires involve marrying Catarina or sweeping her off her feet, Catarina’s only wish is to eat as many sweets as she can. A gingerbread house appears before her, and she gobbles it down, eventually consuming more sweets than the book can handle, and the book finally sets the friends free.

Catarina’s simple desires and wishes are genuinely wholesome. She doesn’t have any romantic experience, and in the first season has very few romantic feelings towards her friends, so her simple desire for sweets is believable and hilarious.

4 Invited All Of Her Friends To The Lake

Geordo constantly kidnaps Catarina and invites her to things to have moments alone with her, but Keith often finds a way to interrupt their alone time and invite himself along to ensure nothing unsavory happens to his sister. Catarina’s cute and wholesome nature also means that she usually invites her entire friend group to these meetings, thinking that Geordo would like to spend time with his friends rather than just with her.

Catarina trying to avoid her doom flags often means that she surrounds herself with friends, ensuring that none of them grow up to hate her. Inviting everyone to the lake is a kind-hearted yet tactical move.

3 Gave Nicol A Bouquet Of Vegetables

Nicol admires Catarina and appreciates the time she spends with his sister. Catarina is enamored with Nicol’s good looks but sees him as just a friend. Nicol graduates from magic school in the first season of the anime, and Catarina is invited to his graduation event along with the rest of their friends.

The other girls give Nicol bouquets of flowers to celebrate his graduation, but Catarina presents him with a bouquet of vegetables she has grown herself. Catarina tries to defend Maria using her Earth Bump (a small mound of soil raised with her Earth magic), but her ability is pretty useless and she only manages to trip one of the bullies up.

This is not the first time that Catarina has defended someone from bullies, but this moment is especially wholesome since Catarina shows Maria her kind nature and difference from other noble ladies. Catarina is oblivious to Maria’s gratitude, however, as she immediately starts eating the muffins that Maria dropped on the ground.

1 Saved Anne From An Arranged Marriage

Anne is the weakest character on My Next Life As A Villainess, with no magic and very little physical ability, but Catarina adores her. Anne moved into the Claes household after a fire destroyed her home. Anne’s father reappears in the show to force Anne into an arranged marriage, but Catarina storms in and declares that Anne is hers, refusing to let Anne go.

Catarina’s earnestness in this scene is especially wholesome since her persona before the reincarnation was that of a bratty posh child. Anne can stand up for herself thanks to Catarina’s intrusion, and they become great friends that have many adventures throughout the series.
