There are few Naruto fans who grew up with the anime that don’t go back to previous episodes and scenes to relive the series’ magic. Alongside One Piece and Bleach, Naruto was one of the defining, shonen series of the 2000s that managed to stand apart from its sister series with its own special flair of character writing and fight scenes.

Whether it’s in character-defining moments, epic ninja battles, or some of the most heartfelt scenes ever seen in anime, Naruto has never quite ended with its last episode since there are several moments that fans love to go back to again and again.

10 Naruto And Sasuke’s Final Valley Fight

Early Naruto had a variety of incredible fights that dazzled fans young and old with combat showcases that were somehow both technically engaging yet utterly fantastical. However, the fight scene that really separated Naruto from the rest and that many fans love to rewatch, reference, and even parody time and again are Naruto and Sasuke’s first bout in the Final Valley.

Naruto manages to finally catch up to Sasuke towards the end of the Sasuke Recovery Mission Arc but not before Sasuke had already taken in Orochimaru’s power. Since Naruto isn’t willing to let Sasuke leave easily and Sasuke has plenty to prove, the two engage in a brutal, heartbreaking, and visually stunning battle. With some of Naruto‘s best fighters on full display, who can resist this scene?

9 Sasuke Fighting The Five Kage

It almost seems as if Sasuke was overcompensating for his childhood inadequacies after he left Konoha because he did nearly anything and everything to show off to the village and the fans. Perhaps the grandest example of this, even grander than him declaring his candidacy for Hokage in the middle of the war, was when he challenged the Five Kage, the five leaders of the different villages, and the de facto strongest ninja across the land, to a 5-on-1 fight.

He wasn’t just blowing smoke either. In Sasuke’s most iconic scene, he competently took on the Kage in one of the most hyped showcases of power in the series.

8 Naruto Revealing The Rasen Shuriken

Before Naruto: Shippuden, it was a treat to see Naruto learn new Jutsu bit by bit. It was cathartic to see him make shadow clone Jutsu his own, it was amazing to see him use summoning Jutsu for the first time, and it was just fun to see him finally be able to use Rasengan after some lengthy, training sessions.

However, none of these moments quite compare to the moment when Naruto finally invented a move for himself. In the battle against Hidan and Kakuzo, Naruto showed off his new and most powerful Jutsu yet: the Rasen Shuriken.

7 Tobi Reveals Himself As Madara Uchiha

While this moment would later become diluted by Tobi revealing himself as Obito and Madara himself later resurrecting, it’s still a pivotal and awe-inspiring scene for many fans. For a while, the Uchiha clan had been built up as Konoha’s elite, with Madara Uchiha standing as one of the clan’s most infamous members.

The Akatsuki already had plenty of powerful, brand recognition up until this point. But when Tobi, the silly, cartoonish member, revealed that he was actually Madara all along, the organization gained so much more weight, and every fan started getting endgame vibes once they realized who the true, final villain really was.

6 The Four Hokage Get Revived

The Fourth Great Ninja War used resurrection a lot to facilitate a lot of cathartic moments for the main characters (on top of bringing in some deus ex machina). However, none of these instances has been quite as impactful as when the Hidden Leaf Village’s four Hokage got revived for a Q&A session with Sasuke.

This scene had the combined power of the four men’s long and influential history in the village. It was like seeing different generations of athletes, presidents, or even Batman stand side-by-side with one another. Seeing four of Naruto‘s most powerful characters together, this was the most impressive lineup in Naruto‘s history.

5 Guy Opening All Eight Gates

Every Naruto fan knew the day was coming when someone would use all Eight Gates. As soon as fans saw Rock Lee struggle to just use a few of them, people knew that this was going to be an epic technique, and in hindsight, it was a little disappointing that the original series only ever used the ability to its full potential once.

However, this one instance was quite a memorable experience. Besides being a funny and confident character, Might Guy had rarely stood out as one of the most powerful ninjas from Konoha, but he surprisingly gave Madara a run for his money when he showed the devious conspirator how to count to eight.

4 Jiraiya’s Death

It’s not as if fans explicitly “love” rewatching this scene, but they just can’t help but go back to it. Naruto has had its fair share of deaths, but none have been quite as impactful and heartbreaking as Jiraiya’s. Here was a fan-favorite character who attracted everyone with his charm and became a father figure to Naruto.

He went into an epic, albeit fruitless, battle against his past pupil and was tragically killed. His final monologue in “The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant,” the image of seeing one of the series’ biggest heroes sink underwater, and especially the iconic opening sequence dedicated to reliving the moment, have all made this scene legendary.

3 Konoha Celebrating Naruto As A Hero

Some will argue that this should’ve been Naruto’s ending, and while it would’ve left a few loose ends in the story, there’s no doubt that this was the most cathartic moment for Konoha’s former #1 knucklehead. Naruto’s fight alone is considered one of the series’ best, and it was complemented by some of the series’ best storylines, such as Nagato’s backstory and Hinata’s epic sacrifice.

However, all of this was just the foundation for seeing the Hidden Leaf Village, Naruto’s original antagonizers, finally come around to cheer Naruto as their faithful hero. At this point, who could remember that swing?

2 Naruto And Sasuke Fighting Kaguya

It’s one thing to see Naruto and Sasuke fight each other, and as bitter rivals, they’re pretty good at it. However, in a storyline where everyone had been working so hard to try and get Sasuke back, it was quite a sight to not only see him return but fight in harmony alongside Naruto against Kaguya, a villain that had truly been the root of a lot of the world’s problems.

Nothing really beats seeing good teamwork on the screen, especially when it culminates in Naruto using his infamous running gag, Harem Jutsu, to help save the world.

1 Rock Lee Taking Off His Weights

Rock Lee taking off his leg weights was, for many fans new and old, the scene that defined the entire series and kept fans coming back for more. Dragon Ball had already dabbled in the weight trope before but never pulled it off as effectively or unexpectedly as Rock Lee did. During Lee’s fight against Gaara, no one was expecting him to have limiters.

Lee, at this point, had been somewhat of an arrogant character that some fans weren’t putting a lot of money into winning this fight. This all changed when they saw his weights break the ground and Lee go to incredible speeds. Gaara had been well-established as a near, unstoppable monster, but in this fight, he was getting pushed around by the next, big underdog after Naruto himself.
