Naruto X Boruto Ninja Tribes is the newest mobile game that blends Naruto and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations characters into one tap ninja battles! In Naruto X Boruto Ninja Tribes, players assemble a team made out of three squads of legendary ninjas that have appeared throughout the series to face off against other teams in combat.

Similar to other anime mobile games, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Tribes includes a gacha system that allows players to summon random characters from a select pool and use them in their team. What makes Naruto X Boruto Ninja Tribes different and somewhat threatening at first is the vast number of upgradable options in the game. Here’s the easiest way to raise the power level of a team in Naruto X Boruto Ninja Tribes.

How To Increase Team Power In Naruto X Boruto Ninja Tribes

This guide will focus solely on things upgradeable within the first twenty or so player levels. Players should become accustomed to the game enough past that point to get a good idea of what to upgrade on their own. The following are ways that individual characters can be upgraded to increase the power of any team they are used on:

  • Awaken – This is by far the most influential upgrade to any character. Each character can be awoken up to seven times, with most characters obtained through summons already having been awoken three times. When a character is awoken, it will unlock new abilities and increase their stats. To awaken a character, the player must have a certain number of Shinobi Fragment for that particular character. These can be obtained through Elite Missions, summoning duplicates of the unit, or purchasing them in the shop.
  • Promotion – For each tier a character is promoted, their Power, Speed, HP, Attack, and Defense will increase. Players must meet a level requirement to be able to promote a character and will need the appropriate promotion materials: Pebbles, Tiles, and Blocks. These promotion materials can be obtained through Standard Missions and the Marketplace.
  • Skills – Characters will have a number of skills that can be unlocked through awakening depending on their rarity. By tapping on the circular icon, players can see what type of skill it is and what effects it has. Special Ninjutsu type skills are the Ninjutsu the character uses when it has full chakra. Unique type skills are the attack that the character performs when they do not have enough chakra to perform a Ninjutsu. Shinobi Enhancement type skills increase specific stats. Shinobu Trait type skills are passive effects applied when using the character in battle. Upgrading skills will increase the numbers highlighted in orange on the skill details screen. This only requires Ryo and Skill Points. The player gets one Skill Point a minute and is maxed out at twenty skill points, so make sure to upgrade skills all of the time!
  • Gear – Every character has four pieces of gear that can be upgraded. Each piece of gear increases specific stats and can be enhanced to a certain point using Ryo. At certain level intervals, the player will need to use Gear Forging Stones, which can be obtained in Elite Missions.

Once a player has properly upgraded their characters, they can organize their team. The easiest way to do this is to edit each squad and select Auto Edit. For those who like a more manual approach, select squad members with varying shinobi types (Attack, Defense, Tactical), high power numbers, and shared Tribe Specials. If players keep all these things in mind, they should have a powerful team in no time!
