NBA 2K22 is the latest installment in the NBA 2K series, and it has new features and a few gameplay changes that make it stand out from its predecessors. There are also certain game mechanics and areas that are only available on next-gen consoles, so there are two versions of the game. One of the biggest differences in these versions is the inclusion of the City on newer consoles, and everything that comes with this new playable area.

The next-gen console NBA 2K22 has new quests, activities, and a larger amount of non-playable characters. The game also includes the WNBA, which isn’t available in the other version. The main area in the next-gen version is the City. In the City, players can work to upgrade their crib and, eventually, earn enough MVP points to unlock the penthouse apartment. There are other rewards that come with achieving this goal and many ways to earn the points needed to unlock them.

Since the City is exclusive to next-gen consoles, the penthouse apartment can only be unlocked in the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions. To gain access to the penthouse apartment, players must complete tasks that award MVP points. A total of 1,000,000 MVP points is needed to complete the MVP of the City challenge. Every completed quest will reward players with points, but the number of MVP points received will vary for each activity. Players can track their progress by going to the quest menu and checking the City MVP section.

Earning the Penthouse Apartment in NBA 2K22

Earning MVP points in NBA 2K22 is fairly easy. Everything players do, from advancing in the MyCareer mode to strutting down the catwalk, will earn them points. However, some tasks give a higher point reward than others. For example, completing the NBA Career Points: 5 (under City MVP quests) will earn players 100,000 points, and finishing the Personal Brand: Free Spirit 9 quest will give 50,000 points. Other tasks, such as the Music Scene: Marvin’s Room side quest or deciding between College and G-League, earn fewer points (1,000 each).

In NBA 2K22, the crib is a central hub for courts, quests, and networking. The penthouse apartment has an open floor plan with a pool table, windows to look out into the City, and plenty of expensive-looking furniture. Along with the penthouse, there are two other rewards that come with earning MVP of the City. Players will also receive 10,000 VC and acquire the zipline. The zipline can be used to travel quickly from the penthouse across the City.

For new-gen console players, the penthouse apartment is one of three rewards for gaining 1,000,000 MVP points. Doing so requires completing various quests around the City and throughout the MyCareer mode. The number of MVP points rewarded for each activity depends on which category the quest falls under and the difficulty of finishing it. NBA 2K22 also awards players 10,000 VC and a zipline for completing the MVP of the City challenge.

NBA 2K22 is available for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.
