New Thor: Love and Thunder set photos show off Nebula’s new look for Phase 4 of the MCU. The complicated character has had one of the most eventful journeys of anyone in the franchise. Nebula is introduced into the MCU as a villain in Guardians of the Galaxy. As Gamora’s adopted sister, Nebula has always felt the need to compete with her. Eventually, though, the pair become friends and allies and even build towards a true sisterly relationship.

Nebula’s evolution culminates in her appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. She is finally working with the Avengers themselves and tries to bring everyone back after Thanos’ snap. Nebula’s forced to face down her past self because of the team’s time heist and Gamora’s tragic death. She convinces past Gamora to join with her to stop Thanos and even kills her past self to save her friends. Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in the MCU, was recently confirmed to be appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder, and now fans have a first peek at what her character will look like in the 2022 film.

New set photos from Daily Mail show off the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder. Gillan appears in some of the photos in costume as Nebula. The actress can be seen sporting the faceplates she had in Avengers: Endgame, with the gold streak returning. Other parts of Nebula’s look are new, though. She is no longer wearing the leather outfit and vest from her last MCU appearance. The sleeveless ensemble shown in the set photos is closer to what Nebula wore in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Nebula is a character to watch in Phase 4 of the MCU. While Thor: Love and Thunder details are largely under wraps, it is known the movie will bring back together most, if not all, of the Guardians. Some of them are seen in the new set photos, with Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth hanging out in between takes. Pratt is in an upgraded version of his iconic Star-Lord costume, while Hemsworth is sporting a new, biker-esque look. Sean Gunn’s Kraglin can also be seen in multiple photos. The dynamic of the Guardians has irrevocably changed after the events of Avengers: Endgame, which should play a role in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Thor and his friends will also have to deal with the new threat of Gorr the God Butcher, and the film will also have to explain Natalie Portman’s return as Jane Foster, who will be taking on the mantle of Mighty Thor. With all that in store, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on the way, it’s more than likely Nebula’s appearance will be rather brief in Thor: Love and Thunder. Still, any chance to revisit the character is exciting after Nebula’s interesting turn in Phase 3.
