Genius Junior is Neil Patrick Harris’ newest project and sees him as the host of a game show. The participants are all children as some of America’s smartest kids are brought out with the world being able to see just how smart they are.

The Madagascar movie franchise proved to be incredibly popular and from those movies, The Penguins of Madagascar television series was spawned. Following the popular supporting characters on a variety of adventures, the show proved to be a real hit with younger audiences.

Neil Patrick Harris popped in for two episodes of American Horror Story’s Freak Show season. While people will debate which series of the anthology show is best, Freak Show always tends to come up in a more positive light than some of the others.

His character Chested Creb is a perfect role for him as he’s a magician, which is a major passion of Neil’s in real life. His character has a dummy who actually talks to him and convinces him to commit serious crimes, which makes him one of the more dangerous characters and leads him to be arrested.

3 Gone Girl – 8.1 (2014)

Neil Patrick Harris took on the role of Desi Collings in Gone Girl, which is an absolutely fantastic mystery thriller. It’s a very different type of role for him with how serious this movie is, as Desi is obsessed with the lead character, Amy, and he ends up helping her when she is on the run trying to convince the world she is dead.

With things not going to plan on her time away, Amy ends up back with Desi and things take a big turn with Amy actually killing Desi in a brutal fashion. Neil plays the role incredibly well striking the perfect balance of being charming while also slightly creepy.

2 How I Met Your Mother – 8.3 (2005-2014)

The role that Neil Patrick Harris is most well-known for is playing Barney in How I Met Your Mother. It’s one of the most popular sitcom shows of all time and Barney was a firm fan favorite. While he may have been a womanizer, similar to how Joey behaves in Friends, he still managed to be loveable with audiences.

Throughout his career, Neil Patrick Harris has provided the voice for a variety of animated characters, and that includes the popular Justice League television show. While Harris was only involved in the series for two episodes, taking on the role of Ray Thompson, he certainly did a great job.
