Netflix’s All the Bright Places cast brings another young adult story to life, with two young and proven actors at the helm. The romantic drama is directed by Brett Haley (Hearts Beat Loud) and based on Jennifer Niven’s 2015 novel of the same name. Elle Fanning As Violet Markey

Elle Fanning portrays Violet Markey, one of the two lead characters in Netflix’s All the Bright Places. Violet is dealing with the death of her sister, Eleanor, in addition to survivor’s guilt. She has lost her passion for living until she meets Theodore Finch, a classmate who has a questionable reputation. The pair grows closer when they realize that they have a lot in common when it comes to their emotional pain. Fanning has been acting from a very young age and is best known for roles in Super 8, Maleficent, 20th Century Women, Mary Shelley, and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

Justice Smith As Theodore Finch

Justice Smith stars opposite Fanning in the role of Theodore Finch. The character is very eccentric but labeled a “freak” by many of his classmates. He puts a lot of effort into getting to know Violet and serves as her confidant. Finch’s own struggles, including his mental health, then start to emerge. Smith would be recognized for his work in Paper TownsJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Detective Pikachu, and the Netflix series The Get Down.

All The Bright Places Supporting Cast

Keegan-Michael Key as Mr. Embry: The high school’s guidance counselor who deeply cares about Finch and his mental well-being. Key would be most recognized for his comedy sketch series, Key & Peele, as well as recent roles in The Predator, Toy Story 4, The Lion King, Friends FromCollege, and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

Alexandra Shipp as Kate: Finch’s older sister who helps him with his personal issues. Shipp has recently starred in Straight Outta Compton, X-Men: Apocalypse, Love, Simon, and Dark Phoenix.

Kelli O’Hara as Sheryl: James’ wife and the mother of Violet who encourages her daughter to get back out there following the death of Eleanor. O’Hara is well-known for her theatre work but she’s also appeared in Masters of Sex and 13 Reasons Why.

Virginia Gardner as Amanda: Violet’s close friend until the pair drifts apart following Eleanor’s death. Gardner recently starred in Marvel’s Runaways, Monster Party, and Halloween.

Felix Mallard as Gabe Romero a.k.a. Roamer: Amanda’s boyfriend and Finch’s childhood friend that now bullies him. Mallard has previously worked on Neighbours, Happy Together, and Locke & Key.

Lamar Johnson as Charlie: One of Finch’s best friends who understands his mental state. After starring in The Next Step, Johnson appeared in The Hate U Give, Dark Phoenix, and Run Sweetheart Run.

Sofia Hasmik as Brenda: Finch’s other best friend that has a crush on Roamer. Hasmik’s other acting credits include Bad Samaritan, Mad About You, and Everyone Together.
