A mention of Netflix’s hit show, You, caused hilarious confusion between Fox News’ Laura Ingraham and guest Raymond Arroyo. Initially premiering on Lifetime in 2018 before making its way to Netflix for its second season, You stars Penn Badgley in the lead role as a disturbed bookstore manager, Joe Goldberg. Throughout the show’s three seasons, the supporting cast has included Elizabeth Lail, Shay Mitchell, Ambyr Childs, Victoria Pedretti, James Scully, Tati Gabrielle, Travis Van Winkle, and Shalita Grant.

The show follows Badgley’s character as he navigates a difficult life of love, becoming obsessed with several different women throughout the show, stalking them, and having murderous tendencies when an obstacle would get in his way. The third and latest season of the show consisted of Joe moving in with the equally as psychotic Love Quinn, portrayed by Pedretti, as the two attempt a normal life after the birth of their son. You season 3 recently premiered on Netflix and is currently available to stream.

On November 16, Twitter user ParkerMolloy tweeted out a funny clip of a recent Fox News broadcast featuring Ingraham and Arroyo speaking on “woke” storylines in television shows, bringing up a recent You storyline involving the measles. However, within the clip, Ingraham became confused and assumed he was speaking about her having the measles, causing hilarious banter to ensure between the two. Ultimately, Ingraham failed to understand the context, and Arroyo decided to move on to another topic after becoming frustrated.

This is not the first time that the title of You has been considered too confusing, as even the show’s social media accounts have acknowledged the potential meme material. In previous posts, users have uploaded photos of Netflix recommending the show to them, pretending to flirt after receiving “Top Pick for me: You.” When talking about the show online, people can capitalize the title to differentiate between the show and whoever they’re speaking with.

With such an easily misinterpreted title, it is no surprise that someone unfamiliar with the show’s popularity would eventually have been confused when attempting to discuss it. Furthermore, the hilarious broadcasted moment only further shows the plethora of meme material that the show possesses, despite its material focusing on darker subjects.
