Travel Channel fans were not exactly excited to hear that new episodes of their favorite paranormal show, Ghost Adventures, will premiere exclusively on Discovery+. This means any new ghost hunting adventure will only be able to be seen if you pay for a subscription, which for some, leaves a bad taste in their mouth.

Ghost Adventures, which is hosted by ghost hunters Zak Bagans, has been on the air since 2008. The show piggybacked off Ghost Hunters, which aired on the SyFy channel. Some Discovery+ viewers believe the TV show is fake and staged at certain times. Regardless, the host says the newest season is the most frightening yet.

The widest collection of paranormal and unexplained programming will now be available in one place thanks to Discovery Channel’s new streaming network, Discovery+. The two-hour special that featured the Cecil Hotel debuted at the beginning of the month, and fans were split down the middle about only being able to watch one of their favorite shows on the streaming service. The hotel is famous for its murders and suicides in downtown Los Angeles, but will the network be committing a crime by forcing their fan base to buy into their streaming service?

Zak Bagans is still leading the charge on all investigations but tries to live a normal life outside of his job, even if the ghosts follow him home. Naturally, some viewers are still displeased with the outline of the show and feel Zak comes across as fake. Even though paying monthly for the new streaming service means fans can watch countless hours of Ghost Adventures, it also means that all their other spooky shows will be available for viewing: The Dead FilesParanormal Caught on CameraDestination FearGhost NationPortals to Hell. Bottom line, if fans want to watch any of these show’s new content, they will have to pay the $4.99 monthly fee.

To say fans are not thrilled with the new situation is an understatement. But the network has had such success with their 90 Day Fiance franchise that there is no possible way they will renege on their monthly subscription. The die-hards will want to see all the new content, no matter how bad it is, and the network will get its money.
